Not sure if this is the right place to post this.
ds is 8.5 months and over the past week has been 'losing' tiny strings of skin just near the sides of his fingernails. (hard to describe properly)
he eats all organic food. lentils, carrots, pumpkin, sweet potato, broccoli, beans, etc and fruit. he doesn't seem to like even the tiniest bit of fruit juice in his water. the only liquids he has are water and breastmilk.
i have upped my intake of vit C rich foods in the hope that it will pass through in the milk but i know that vit c isn't stored by the body, so not sure if it will make a diff or not.
i know that i get this sometimes and i thought it was vitamin C deficiency. i tried giving him oranges but him not so keen but will keep trying.
is this common?normal?is it actually caused by low levels of vit C?
any tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks:)

*bump bump*
Can anyone help? I'm sure there are some naturopaths or nutritionists on this forum who may have some info on vitamin C deficiency.

hi:wave:
i asked DP about it, and he suggested: possibly fungal infection, or low protien/iron.
i'm sure the docs will know what it is. they just may not know what to do about it!
good luck

Thanks faery!! i've finally got off my big behind and done a bit of reading about specific foods and vitamins/minerals. i think you could be completely right as iron is absorbed better when taken with vitamin c foods, soooo maybe the increase in the vit C foods has aided the absorption of his iron rich lentils (that he has every day) into his system.
Thanks alot:yes:
