Public Holiday?

Can anyone tell me if there is a public holiday next week & when it is? A friend told me it was wednesday but the local newsagents has a sign up saying Monday???

Don't quote me or anything, but i think it's wednesday as that's generally the public day at the RNA Show, it's never been on a Monday. :)

If you live in the Redlands area, the public holiday falls on the Monday. Brisbane area is the Wednesday.

There is also a public holiday also for the Logan Council businesses on Monday.
Pine rivers businesses have a holiday on Thursday I think,
and the Brisbane City businesses have Wednesday.
I'm not sure what businesses recieve the Tuesday and Friday - Ipswipch may be on one of these days?
Not everyone is Wednesday.

You live just near me and we are both in the Pine Rivers Local Government area, who have designated Monday 14 August as the Public Holiday for the Ekka. Just means that the majority of the local businesses will be closed for the day but all the shops and stuff in the Brisbane City Council area are still open (they shut on the Wednesday if at all).
