For anyone to chat about anything !!!!
Just wanted to say congratulations on your twin pregnancy. I haven't been on bubhub for ages after giving birth to my twinnies almost 9 weeks ago. They are gorgeous and absolutely loving it - it is hard work but worth every minute. Just wanted to tell you that when I saw your thread. I feel so blessed to have them, and I'm sure you do to. Mine were IVF as well! good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.:)
Hmm...now to update my ticker before they wake.......

Sjy - Its hard not to read into things. My boob soreness is at its peak at night when i am in bed. When i firat wake up they hurt alot. During the day they are fine unless i bump them or walk too bouncy and then i can feel them but they aren't too bad. My nipps are still normal colour.
Holy crap!!!!!!!!!!!
Holy crap!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lissy - I noticed my (.V.)'s stopped being so tender around the start of my 2nd trimester. Having said that, I accidentally whacked 1 of them today and it is really sore now
Lissy Loo
28-05-2010, 09:35
Herewego - hehe silly sausage. Mine are sooo sore when i wake in the morning. They are fine during the day when they are held up by my Bra. I think they have already increased in size. I am normally a DD so it will be interesting to see how big they get. I read a post somewhere saying that ladies with PCOS sometimes have trouble breastfeeding because their boobs don't grow much, hmmm hope that doesn't happen to me, want mine to grow:laughing: only joking, i want to be able to breastfeed.
gottabecrazy
28-05-2010, 11:06
Lissy - I have those DD's too ..i have not gone up in bra size yet..i brought a couple of mat bras but they send the girls North and South...so i have to make some amendments to keep the girls together ..but i didnt think of it at the begining when i did take my bra off they were a bit sore i just didnt read into it then as a pregnancy sign!!
Lissyloo - wow...I had never heard about girls with PCOS potentially having trouble with breastfeeding. I had no end of trouble with trying to breastfeed my DD - basically had very poor milk supply......but no one ever mentioned it might be due to me having PCOS?? You have shed some light for me....I just thought I was crap at it...lol. This time I hope to have a better go at it.
Lissy Loo
28-05-2010, 11:37
May - hmmm thats interesting, i'm going to ask my OB about it when i have my appointment. I guess there is not point in worrying about it now though as it may not be an issue. My Sister has PCOS and had had 3 kids naturally and breastfed all of them with no problems. My PCOS is alot worse though. I hope you have better luck this time
hopefulmama2b
30-05-2010, 12:21
Hi Lissy
I had heard about the PCOS thing and issues with BF. I dont have PCOS but I do have polysistic ovaries and there was no way I could BF billy- we gave us 2 weeks in lol. For starters, he was in the special care nursery and he needed to fatten up and he just wouldn't take to my breast so it was better for him to feed him formula and give him some of my expressed milk. When we got home together a week later I could only express like 30 mls a day max and he was drinking more than that at each feed, 7 times a day lol so it was not going to work.
May- I find that they never tell u things like that- midwives just tell u that everyone can BF and u will have the correct supply blah blah and I completely disagree!
EarthAngel75
30-05-2010, 21:12
It was the middies at the local teaching hospital here (in the ACT) who told a friend of mine that there are issues with PCOS and BFing. I have since done my owb research on the topic and due to the many complicated facets of PCOS it really depends on your own personal hormonal structure whether you will be able to BF or not. About 33% of PCOSers have an over supply of BM, 33% are normal and 33% never really have any real milk come in.
When I had my dd i didnt have a problem with my milk supply and actually had an over supply. This time around I have had colstrum come out already and am hoping that's a sign i will be able to BF.
hopefulmama2b
31-05-2010, 00:51
earth- i hope u can too. I had colostrom all thru out my preg but we are all different
Hi....hope you dont mind if i join in....
Can i please just say....HOLY MOLY LISSY!!! :yelclap::yelclap:Natural BFP!!! well done!! you had so many troubles over the last year (i think) and now look at you!! well done!! best wishes to you!
Shy..... I never had fully sore tender boobies! my nipples were sometimes a bit tender but i never had the whole rack totally sore. I think also i felt minor pain the most in the morning when waking up but that's about it. I think i'm nearly needing to get new bigger size bras now.....i'm only down to 2 normal ones and i think....well....it's time to start accommodating bigger boulders!
Hi to the rest of you! Hope you're all keeping well!

Emma- that sheets excellent. Only thing im a sucker for is the pre packaged salads like in woolies, cause im lazy... looks like not anymore.Plus i been eating custard n canned fruit not now... they also say dont eat your larger fish..... mackeral, barramundi, shark etc.. for the mercury content they contain from eating lots of little fish.So should only eat smaller types of fish.Im not game to order fish n chips incase they lie when telling you what type it is.I love my devon ,fresh bread sambos too :( lived on them with my 1st pregnancy, every day for lunch !!
herewego
04-06-2010, 17:35
I've always thought prawns were fine as long as they were freshly cooked and hot. I didn't know about the custard though. I guess I can't finish that container of yummy Brownes custard in the fridge
Thanks Emma for the food info. I knew most of what's in there, which is why I have been stressing after eating a freshly made salad yesterday in which I found bean sprouts  I fished out as many as possible, but some were the little ones which are hard to fish out. I should have just thrown it and got something else. Then tonight, my thai soup has bean sprouts in it again, WTF?!! I fished them out as well, but who knows if any got in or it was contaminated.....I am worrying now!
Please be ok little one

Question: What does everyone stand with regards to chemicals eg Hair Colour, cleaning products etc? I Have been cleaning with natural products for a while now (when i clean which is very rare haha). I am due for a root touch up but am cautious about dyeing my hair in the 1st trimester. I know my Hair Dresser would say it is fine, she has been pregnant twice and has 2 healthy kids and continued to work in her home salon right up until 3 weeks before giving birth. Anyway just interested to know what everyone does?
gottabecrazy
09-06-2010, 10:17
Lissy - I get mine chemically straightened and they say its ok but i still wouldnt do it in the first trimester just cause its such an important development stage i wouldnt want something as little as a hair colour to do something IYKWIM
Em
Lissy I'm paranoid about chemicals. I won't be touching my hair for the first trimester. Everyone says it's fine but better be safe than sorry.
Lissy Loo
09-06-2010, 13:45
Thanks Girls, i think i'll wait until after 12 weeks and then will go and get the roots done.
herewego
09-06-2010, 17:06
Lissy - my hairdresser said they recommend waiting until after the first trimester. Also, my ob said it's okay to get my hair coloured, as long as it's only once in a while.
Hi girls, well I am 10w tomorrow, and the last couple days have been experiencing some on/off cramps/abdominal dragging. Sometimes it feels like AF, sometimes not. Anyone else experienced this? I am freaking out (naturally) as I am a worry wart. Seeing the Ob tomorrow and praying he will do a scan and that everything will be ok.......has ruined my weekend
Lissy Loo
15-06-2010, 07:52
Shy, i dont blame you for freaking out. Mild cramps and pulling are normal though and as long as you dont have bleeding with it im sure all is fine with bubbs. I had some bleeding and cramps over the weekend which totally freaked me out however it has calmed down now and my nausea has gone up a notch which i am taking as a good sign. I would demand a scan just to put your mind at ease. This 1st trimester is not fun!!

Question for anyone that wants to answer
I'm having what feels like a pulse feeling in the lower region almost feels like it's in my vjay jay

How long does it last? Could it be hiccups?

26-06-2010, 14:16
Emma-your website for you hospital should have a list, ours does.We have to take everything for ourselves & the bubs apart from linen/towells basically. clothes for both, pads & nursing pads for you, nappies, baby bath wash, powder, creams, bottles & formula if not feeding. I was shocked, when i had my last one 14yrs ago they still supplied everything even pads, nappies everything.i just took clothes for me & nursin bra pads that was about it.

Question about boobs girls :)
When did you start wearing a Maternity Bra?
I am starting to spill out of my DD's so i am thinking that soon i will need to get some new Bras however i don't see the point in buying normal underwire ones. On the other hand i am sure they will get bigger so will the Mat Bra i buy early on still fit me once bubbs is born?
plsjust1more
28-06-2010, 16:59
Lissy-i always started at 12 weeks & they saw me through all last 3 pregnancies did the same.I looked at buying some online today but there measurements say im a 14C in a berlei bra but im spilling out of a berlei bra now thats a 12D !! So emailed them & they said go get a proper fitting at bras n things first to check sizing but bras n things dont stock the berlei bra i want !!! Dumb woman. No one stocks them up here & i have to buy them online but just doesnt make any sense to go up a size but down in cup size. You should get away from a wire bra as soon as you can supposedly something to do with the milk ducts & ligaments inside & also the uncomfortableness of them BUT i think i'll be everywhere without a wire !!! So need to have a bra shopping day (yuk) try on different brands & sizes to see where i am at.Cant see a C cup fitting me at all :(
gottabecrazy
28-06-2010, 20:19
Lissy - I haven't yet started wearing them as i haven't gone up a size yet ... Phewww...I brought a couple for afterwards just cause I figure at the hospital it would be easier and more comfortable to rest in a mat bra rather than my normal ones but I still wear my normal bra wire and all
Pls- I asked about that milk duct issue with the doc he said he had never heard of anything like that but I'm with you on the underwire thing no wire they tend to go north and south or east and west depends on where you are facing lol
plsjust1more
28-06-2010, 21:38
Emma- was probably some other stupid woman telling me that crap to buy their bras at some stage & stupid me listened  but i do know mine are killing me in my normal bras... each night have to peel off the bra & its like ouch & massive red marks from the wire. Not pleasant.
Lissy I started around 12 weeks too cos they were the only bras that had no underwire. I felt like a fraud!
Emma yeah you feel them right down there!! At least I think so :) and your antenatal class should tell you what to bring. Our hospy provided everything for bubs.

29-06-2010, 09:02
Thanks Jetgirl - they happen more often now ..its a odd feeling!!
We arent doing the classes as the only ones they had for twins was on a Thursday night and DH isnt able to attend so we are not going to bother ...i figure with two BF's with 3 kids each i'm sure i can get all the info i need from them..but i havent asked them about a hospital bag yet.

Girls, when did you start to show?
I actually look pregnant and i am amazed that i do so early. I think it is a mixture of fat but it definitely looks like a baby belly. I am 10 weeks today and i have looked like this for a couple of weeks.

Lissy-I started at 8 weeks but im carrying twins & are now 10wk2days.Ive read in books n stuff that yes pants can be tight or not fitting now depending on how your going to carry the extra weight or the change of weight throughout your body.Ive lost my weight on my legs/thighs & arms/upper body but have a 4-5 month pregnant body & im only usually a size 10-12.i'll have to get DH to take a decent photo to show you all....you'll die.

plsjust1more
02-07-2010, 10:33
Emma-Plus being your first that sometimes takes longer to show just depends on your bodies. My 1st i didnt show till 16 weeks then the twins it was bit earlier cause when i went for the 18wk scan she said your far too big to be 18wks & i said no if anything im less,so she turned on scanned & realised why i was so huge-TWINS !!

02-07-2010, 10:49
And ...i have had that Thyriod issue too ..i forgot about that ..i've only put on 5.8kgs the whole pregnancy and i'm 25wks tomorrow and i also was told by the doc that we tend to follow our mothers and they way they had us etc..in case case my mum didnt show until she was about 7mths went overseas on a plane and everything without the airline knowing ... :-)

Morning Preggi's,
Hope your all going well at your various stages.
I am 10.5 weeks so getting sooo close to the magic that i can smell it. Its next week :)
I won't be announcing to the world until after the scan though which is in 2 weeks from today.
Question, what should we expect from out 12 NT scan? Will the BT results (that i did today) be sent to the OB or the U/S place? Does the Sonographer give you the results of the scan then and there or do you have to wait until you see your OB? My OB appt isn't until 3 days after the scan.
Hi Preggy ladies,
I just wanted to drop in to ask you all a question. I'm 6.6 weeks pregnant and my nausea (which has been really strong to date) has disappeared. I feel totally normal and unpregnant all of a sudden and have done for a couple of days. Of course I am FREAKING!!!! Have any of you had anything like this happen??
I've moved my scan forward from the 17th to Monday so I guess I'll find out then, but in the meantime I am going insane!!!
Thanks girls!!
Lissy Loo
05-08-2010, 14:46
Hi Josi,
Its really hard to know. I have heard of some girls symtoms dissapearing and everything being fine and then the other side where it wasn't. It is really hard not to read into everything but try and hang in there until you have a scan. If you are really worried you could always ask for another BT to make sure the HCG is rising.
xxx
Thanks Lissy. I guess I'll wait and find out either way on Monday. Plleeeaaase cross your fingers for me !!:fingerscrossed:

Hi I will start this with a TMI warning.
I just wanted to know if anyone else out there has now got fat labia's in second trimester. I was a bit amorous with DH last night and its the first time I felt myself down there and it felt swollen and big. I got a mirror and I got the shock of my life. My god it was huge. lol. I have since had a look this morning and its not as huge. So now I know blood engorges itself to that area when aroused. Phew. But I still have fattened labia's just not as much as when in the mood.
It was a shock to my system thats all.

Thank you Emma, how are the little ones going? How are you coping?
Next question. lol
Did anyone get the funny sensation of bubs bouncing on the cervix. I got a funny feeling in the place down below, I think bubs was bouncing on it.
TNTbub
Hi TnTbub,
Just thought I'd share the pillow I've been using. I love, love, love it. It's made me so much more comfortable at night since using it. I can't do without it now. It's called the bellybean:
http://bellybean.com.au/
I lie in the middle of it so it supports my tummy and back and then stick a pillow in between my legs. It's great!
Josi
Hello,
wanting to know if anyone else feels this. I feel sore in the lower abdomen. Its kind of like stretched ligaments. It used to happen when I was on my feet all day such as work. But now it happens anytime. I got out of bed this morning and there it was. Its there when Im walking too. Is this a normal part of pregnancy as bubs grows she gets heavier and causes soreness in lower abdomen.
I also have trouble dressing myself. I can put on my pants on the right leg a heck of a lot easier than the left. I usually need help for the left. Its the same soreness I get as I mentioned above.
TNTbub
Hi just wanted to know does anyone around the 32-33 week mark have intense soreness at the top of the fundus when rubbing your belly?

Hi ladies,
I am currently 8 weeks and have some questions.
Can someone tell me if good nutrition in the first trimester crucial? My appetite has been all over the place due to feeling sick, and I have been craving for junky stuff like cheese burgers, instant noodles, chips...all the foods which I really dont take before getting pregnant. Things that I used to love I dont now. ANd being sick I dont cook and have been eating takeaways every single day. And when I do cook I eat spam and chicken nuggets.
My cousin told me during the first trimester our baby uses the embryonic sac so I shouldnt worry but I dont want to be doing bad things to my baby. I am taking my Elevit.
Also, my Vit D is just within range but since BFP I stopped taking it. Elevit has a bit of Vit D. Is there anyone of you who has or in similar situation re Vit D? Not sure if I should take the D supplement. I can only see OB first time end March so not sure who to ask.
Thank you. :)

Mom2oneDS: I could have written your post word for word. I am 9 weeks tomorrow and for the last 5 weeks my diet has been terrible. I have been living off packet pasta, mashed potatoes and junk food, and prior to getting my BFP i NEVER ate any of that kind of food. I am so sick though that i am just trying to keep any food down at all. I don’t think i have eaten any salad or vegetables since the TWW. I too have heard the same thing about nutrients and the first trimester. I did speak to my acupuncturist about it and she said the main 2 things in the first trimester are protein and fat so not to worry about the junk food, she said although not ideal if all i can stomach is a cheese burger then eat them as they contain both protein and fat. I am still taking my prenatal vitamin so at least i know i am getting the basics. I have my first OB appointment tomorrow and was going to ask him if this was a big deal so will let you know.
We really should start a Oct/Nov/Dec 2012 IVF Due Date thread so we can all chat more, i know Oct is going to be a very busy month for us IVFers from all the other threads.

Thank you EternalOptimist, and congratulations too! :)
Glad to find someone who identifies with how I am feeling right now. I havent vomitted yet but queasy at times and very low on energy...I spend whole day lying down on the couch...not very good...but tell myself it is all worth it as long as bub is well. We have gone through so much via IVF, so no suffering is too much now.
I read on another thread I am on that green grapes help. DH bought some just now and yes, I quite like them. I dont usually eat green grapes haha! No appetite for dinner too so not eating...then suddenly around 10pm I would make some milo minus all the milk and sugar, so bland milo, so unlike me! and make a simple ok sandwich to eat.
I feel so lousy I dont even want to floss my teeth! Something I do religiously every day. Wow I think pregnancy hormones are powerful stuff!
I know there isnt any thread here and I am too low too start one, but there is one I am on in Essential Baby for Oct/Nov/Dec IVF graduates. U are welcome to join us there. :)

Hey there Mom2oneDS,
I checked with my OB at my appointment last week and he said that it’s perfectly fine that we aren’t eating as healthy as we should be. He said the yolk sac is where the baby gets all its nutrients from for majority of the first trimester anyway. He did mention that if i am eating really crappy food to try and make sure i keep up with my antenatal vitamins to ensure i am getting the basic levels of nutrients though. I am so relieved as i don’t feel like eating anything at all, the only reason i eat is to try and curb my nausea.
I gave the grapes a shot and they were pretty good, i have also been eating green apples which help a lot as they are bitter, i must admit though that i put salt on them and they taste AMAZING.

Thanks EternalOptimist for asking your OB and sharing! Really appreciate that. I will finally see OB next Tues and can ask him lots of other questions too. :)
My appetite has improved in terms of the variety of food I eat now, though the portions are still smaller.
Green grapes bitter? Hmm they taste sourish sweet to me. Oh adding salt sounds yummy, I may try.
Hi ladies, I am new to this thread and just got pregnant via IVF. My beta was 149 on Monday and 237 on Wednesday. I am freaking out that it hasn't doubled in 48 hours. How concerned should I be???
Mary
Maryz- I don't think you should be concerned: the Hcg should theoretically double every 2-3 days (so 48-72 hours). Your numbers look fine :) My numbers were really slow at the start (doubling time was 85 hours) but my doctor wasn't worried as long as they were rising (and I also had last onset OHSS which apparently can mess with the Hcg levels).
Vesper: Thanks for calming me down abit :) I needed the reassurance. How far along are you? Do you remember what your numbers were? I saw my FS today and he's also not concerned yet and says we'll know more Monday when I have the third HCG test. So it's an anxious wait till Mon.
Mary
Mary: You're testing my memory!! 100 at 14DPO, 250 about 4 days later and then about 800 a week after that, then up over 4000 a week after that (last blood test). Everything I read on the internet said that they should be rising faster then that, but my FS told me to ignore that rule and he was happy as long as they were rising. I'm now 37 weeks
I hope your results on Monday reassure you :goodvibes: I'd love to say that the stress levels drop after the first couple of weeks, but I've been a bit of a stresser through my whole pregnancy. I think infertility and IVF does that to you!!
Vesper: thank you, it's reassuring to know that slower rising HCG can still be ok. I'm praying all will be fine on Monday. All the very best to you in your final weeks of pregnancy, how exciting!!! Is this your first baby??
Mary
Just curious when does the nausea really hit? I am 5 weeks pregnant tomorrow and so far just real mild waves of nausea here and there. I'm wondering if everything is ok and whether I should be feeling more.
Mary
Hi ladies,
A little update from me. All going well so far, I'm 5wks 5 days pregnant tomorrow. My last HCG was 1255 which was perfect. Next bloodwork to check levels is on the 11 April and my scan will be in the 7th week on the 16 April. We're praying to hear that previous little heartbeat (or two) at the scan. Counting down 11 days till my scan. It seems to always be a never ending wait for something. I'm still super bloated, find it hard to eat much so eat little bits at a time. I look 4 mths pregnant because of the bloating and was told it will continue for the first trimester due to the hormones. I'm still getting very sore cramps every day but my FS said its normal but it still worries me. The boobs are sore and I get waves of nausea throughout the day but it's not too bad at the moment. Best wishes to all for a happy and safe Easter !
Mary
