Hi what are some good baby product brands?
I want to try and get some free samples but I can only think of johnson and johnson and huggies nappies. Any Ideas?

I like Gaia too. More natural and not full of chemicals :)

Bepanthem and Sudocream are good for nappy rash.

You should get a Bounty Bag with your first appt with your Midwife/OB and that has a few little packs of things as well. You get another when you give birth and then claim the last one from Target.

Hope that helps!

Johnson's products have my DD a rash, they have a lot of chemicals and fragrance in them (hence they smell so nice!) so we've been using Ego QV bath oil and cream instead, they're very gentle on her skin and her skin is beautiful now!

We also use Moltex Oko Nappies, available from ecodirect.com.au, they're biodegradable nappies and so far have been really good. We also use Wotnot wipes and nappy bags (also biodegradable).

Also I noticed that purely by accident all her toys (bouncer, tummy time mat, playmat, rattles etc) are Brightstarts, couldn't live without them :)

we had the same dramas with johnson's products. we were given alot of johnsons gift packs and freebies, but found them all (shampoo, wash, moisturiser) to be quite harsh on ds's skin. so we went with QV, and that still didnt work, ds's skin started to get very dry and itchy. we switched to dermaveen, and havent looked back!
every bub is different and has different tolerances, so its really just trial and error. as Cat0211 said, johnson's do have alot of chemicals and fragrances-u can read it on the bottle.

paw paw lotion !! a really good all rounder! and i love pampers cruisers as they are more like a cloth feel as opposed to other nappies which are like wrapping your precious bubba botty in newspaper they are so coarse!!

Gaia is organic and Australian owned and made.
The lady that started the company originally started making products for her son that had eczema.
They have shampoo, body wash, moisturiser, wipes and nappy rash cream.
I use all of the products except for the wipes.
Burt's bees is available from some chemists. I guess you could google stockists?

I'm also an advocate of natural products. There are LOTS of these on the market these days, not just Gaia. Just google " natural baby products" or go through the Bubhub business directory and you'll see plenty to choose from.

One thing to remember is that if you're buying a bubble bath or shampoo, the more bubbles there are, the more chemicals are in the product. Natural bubble bath/shampoo products do take a little more agitation to lather up, and the bubbles won't last for ages, but it's a good sign that your product is not full of synthetic ingredients.

For newborns, I would recommend washing them in just water... no bath-type products at all. You could then use a natural baby massage oil, or lotion, for a massage afterwards, or for dry skin/cradle cap.
The more product you use on a newborn, the more likely you are to strip away the natural oils in their delicate skin.

Also, there's a competition on my sister blog (click link below, then go to Links) to win some natural baby skin soothing lotion... so if you're interested... check it out!

I prefer J&J fragrence free baby wipes, they're lovely and soft:p

For bath and body I love the Body Shop 'Buriti baby range', It smells devine and is delicate and gentle on bubs skin. I use their shampoo, body wash and massage lotion and gel. :goodvibes:

For me Huggies nappies are the best, nothing compares in my eyes.

:iagree:
Gaia is meant to be good, I plan on using it this time around.

RE: The bounty bag, you should have gotten one when you booked into hospital, although not all hospitals or care providers give the bounty bag out.
There aren't any good samples in them atm though, just a sudocrem and cocoa butter sample, a few magazines, a huggies NB nappy and thats it.

Gaia is not actually very natural. I find we get bad reactions from it, as it is very foamy and heavily perfumed!

I looooove the body shop stuff, its pricey, but lasts ages because you barely need to use anything.

Sudocream is great for little bot bots :D

Where do you buy Burt's bees from? I havent heard of them before.

They have just started selling the range in Myer's in Sydney, they were on a few online sites but with the deal Myer made no longer sell online from what i have been advised from some of the sites i emailed...

They seem to have a bigger baby range available in the US and UK, i have found ebay UK the cheapest including delivery...

I also found another product Metanium it is available in the UK it is like Sudocreme but much better so people have been telling me....

I know Every baby is going to be different... So I have prucahsed about 10 different sorts, all from differing opinions, i am sure in the first few years from the birth i will get through them all...

You can also buy larger containers of Sudocreme from the UK, I got a 400g tub inc delivery for $11.00...

Hello guys!

The most awesome baby product I found was called "Method Baby". They have good range on net or i bought mine from Woolworths. They are the only supermarket supplier.
It is gentle, tear free, 99% natural, pediatric tested & hypo-allergenic.

But most of all..... Its made from rice milk & mallow. It smells like marshmallows!!!!:yelclap:

I'm now getting hungry, thinking about marshmallows... mmmm.....

I have been given a few samples of J&J and even if the baby doesn't like them, i love having a bath in the Bedtime Bath the purple bottle... Might have something to do with all of the aches of pregnancy but i just love it, it has become my Sunday night addiction.... So relaxing!!!!:cloud9:

I have also used the Gaia Skin soothing lotion, firstly on myself as my boobs erupted at the start of my pregnancy i had a bit of a rash it became quite painful only took 2 days before it was gone, it was very relieving almost immediately... Secondly, my father has had some complications from surgery in Feb this year and has since been unable to walk, his bum and lower back had gotten quite irritated, a few days of this and it has gotten much better... ( I didn't tell him it was for baby's bums )
