Hello,
I'm a newbie, just found out that I'm expecting our 3rd baby. I would really appreciate some advice on which maternity wear stores to visit. I live at Paradise.
Cheers
Kristy :)

hi welcome to bub hub. i found that while i was pregnant it was cheeper to buy clothe in a bigger siize because the maternityb wear was so expensive. i lived in trackies and jumpers. if you go out to nice places alot like where you dress up them maybe get some but if you just get a couple of sizes bigger or long tops that are stretchy are great. u know thosetops with the big band around the waist. that was great i wore that from beging till end hell i gave birth in it. i was still buying clothes from valley girl and those kind of stores you just have t get the right stuff. alot of the tops that stretch and that go fairly cheap on sale.
sorry for all the babiling 12am will do that to u
Sorry I can't help you, I lived in trackies and jumpers too. But I do want to welcome you to Bub Hub

Hey and congrats on your pregnancy!
When I was pregnant with DS 3 years ago, I felt guilty about spending sooo much money on maternity clothes, and opted for one universal outfit. Black pants + 1 maternity top. I was soooo depressed later in the pregnancy when I didn't have ANYTHING to wear except the same old set I'd worn almost every day (don't worry, I washed it haha)!
The fashion then was high cut tops and low cut jeans etc so nothing in my wardrobe worked.
But this year you have the advantage of long tops, baby-dolls, elastic waists etc. Invest in some quality maternity jeans/pants, and then dig through stores like ValleyGirl etc for long boho tops, baby-dolls, LONG t-shirts that come down past the hips (used for layering).
Also, if you have some fave tops at home which you're worried about not being long enough and don't want a shiny belly poking out, go to some of the teen stores and buy a black or white fabric belt. This gives the illusion of layering, and you can keep it to support/cover your tummy.
Good luck! :fingerscrossed:
As for maternity stores, there's a gorgeous store in the new section of HARBOURTOWN. A little expensive, but divinely pretty! And you deserve to be spoilt.. just a little! :D
There is a new store that has just opend in the city in the old Jacqui E site.
I cant rememeber what its called though.
Great Shop though.
And there is also a good one on South Road across from Babyco thats good.
If you live in Paradise 'Abel Zera Maternity' is near you. Its at 579 Lower North East Rd., Campbelltown. They have a website (not sure how good it is! but the shop is good) www.abelzeramaternity.com.au They also have a discount center there. Also, you could try Mumma Mia's Boutique at 4/475 Payneham Rd., Felixtow.
I know of others but these are closest to you. Let me know if you'd like details on any more.
Love,
Nan. xx

Just wanted to thank you all for your suggestions.
I went to Abel Zera, the lady was really friendly. I then went onto Mumma Mia's but was told that they have moved to Marden Shopping Centre. Mumma Mia's have a great range, I bought myself some funky tops & jeans. I have a wedding to attend in 2 months, so I will be back there soon.
With lots of thanks

If you live down south, there's maternity girl which has just opened up at colonnades and there's a sale on atm upto 70% off. Heaps more variety I think then the harbour town store.

i wish i could live in trackies - but i work in an office all week, so have to remain pretty corporate.
ebay is amazing! i've just bought 2 near-new pairs of 3/4 pants for under $30! ice in the city also have some great black stretch jersey skirts for about $20 which have a huge fold-down band - great for work. and cotton on have loads of loooong tops which are incredibly stretchy as well.
i am still trying to find a pair of decent black maternity pants which are long enough for me - i'm 6ft 3in tall so finding pants at the best of times is difficult! i'm thinking i may have to bite the bullet and make some.
