Has anyone had SPD during pregnancy?

I'm 20 weeks and am getting pelvic and lower back pain when I walk, roll over in bed etc. I wasn't sure if it was normal so I googled it and came across SPD. I know very little about this condition but it seems to cause extreme pain. Mine hasn't been all that bad... mainly just uncomfortable. It gets far worse at night, it makes me "waddle" when I walk.

Could it be SPD or something else?

Could be. I had very similar pain at about 25 weeks. I do yoga 3 times a week and find that that helps, although there are a few positions that I could feel aggravating it so I've just adjusted those ones. Try and keep your legs together while rolling over in bed and just keep in mind what aggravates it and try to avoid it. By doing all this I've managed to keep my pain to a minimum and I'm now 34 weeks and it is still tolerable. Good luck!

It sounds like it, it's not a great feeling and I had trouble walking, rolling in bed, opening my legs and the pain can be unbearable. It did get better last trimester though, 2nd seemed to be the worst for me.
There are things to try and help like physio, I personally didn't do anything which I probably should have but just didn't have time. It did go away after delivery though so I have no long term issues with it.

It sounds like it. I had SPD from about 25 weeks (DD is head down my whole pregnancy which didn't help and engaged for 10 weeks). My pelvis used to click when I got up and walked. The only was I could walk was side ways andIt was extremly painful. I was never told because mine was so sevre I should have had a c-section and my hospital processed to instruct me all the wrong methods of giving birth with SPD and I ended up breaking my pelvis and was unable to walk or get out of bed for 2 months. 9 months later and I still can't do much because of the pain.

Make sure you get all the info on giving birth the safe and correct way for SPD if you have it.
Good luck.

I also did with my lasy pregnancy.

Can you see a Oesteopath or Physio? That would be my recommendation, they will be able to diagnose as well as offer management strategies. And also see about getting a pelvic girdle, or substitute with a pair of 'suck em in' undies that hold tight across your pelvic area.

I also didn't do anything about it, well I did mention to my Dr and Midwives but I kept getting the response of 'just late pregancy symptoms'. Mine was worse at the time of delivery and it wasn't until after I delivered that the physio diagnosed when I was stil in agony and couldn't move.

All the best for the remainder of you pregnancy.

Waterlily- I'm so sorry:( what a horrible experience... Hope you feeling better soon.
