Hi there

Someone may be able to help me, im just wondering approx how long babies are in size 1 for. I know all babies grow at different rates, but ive heard that size 1 is generally for age 1 and can last for quite a while.

My little one is currently wearing mostly size 0, but Ive seen a long sleeved top which I want to buy and was going to choose size 1 to try to make it last longer. Just a bit worried that it may not last longer then the summer months and therefore long sleeved be too warm

Thanks

Generally, size 1 clothing is for a baby aged between 1 and 18 months. (so generally, it's made to last for 6 months).

It really DOES depend on how big your baby is though...DD turned 1 on July 25, and is starting to outgrow all of her size 1 clothes already (at Christmas time she was JUST in size 0 clothes...so size 1 didn't last too long...nor did size 0 for us).

I wouldn't buy a size 1 long-sleeved top if I were you...just because Summer isn't far off...and it perhaps won't last until next Winter...

It really depends on her size and the brand of clothing. My DD just turned 2 and is still in size 1. She even has a couple of 0's that she fits into.

Is the top expensive? If not maybe you could buy size 1 & 2:rolleyes:
If it is exspensive maybe just don't bother theres always super cute kids clothes everywhere you look these days.

I'd say they are in size 1 for alot longer than any of their previous sizes...say 6 to 9 months-ish....alot of the t-shirts and pants can be bought in size 2 and just rolled up at the cuff (also, try and get the pants that have the adjustable elastic in the waist)

Connor has been wearing size 1 shirts since he was 1. He has been wearing size 1 pants since the start of winter. He's 2 1/2. He is fitting size 2 shirts a bit now though.

They're all SO different its impossible to tell!

DS is 3y9m and only just grown into size 2 pants, hes been in size 2 tops for about 6 months now. At 1 he was a 000-00, at 2 he was a 00 (only grew 190grams that year)

DD1 is 13 months and in size 0-1 pants and size 1-2 tops ALREADY!! So yep... with 2.5 yrs age gap they can wear the same size tops lol

So first hand I know how drastically different they can be.

You can guess by her previous growth but even thats no real indiction as it all changes! If you can, as has already been suggested.. I'd buy a 1 and a 2! :)

Thanks for all your replies. It does seem like its different with every child. The top is currently 50% of original price, and therefore pretty cheap considering, so I may well buy two different sizes. :)

my ds is mostly in sz0 but in some brands he is a sz1. he is 15 months and i buy size1 tops and sz0 bottoms :) if they arent a 2 piece set. coz then ds can wear them straight away.
