Hi again,
Just wondering if anyone can give me any advice on how many feeds bub should be having at 3 months.
We currently feed at;
6am
9.30am
12 midday - 1pm
3.30pm
6.30pm
9.30pm
Most of the time she wakes though in the afternoon/night I wake her especially for the 9.30 when I bath, feed and then she goes down for the night (hopefully).
I don't know if we should try to stretch it out to 4hrly and only 5 feeds or leave it as it seems to be working.
Also, is there any sites anyone knows of in regards to developments e.g. what she "should" be doing at this age.
Thanks
RB

Hi RB,
When April was 3 months, she was doing exactly the same times as your bub except the 9,30pm feed. She slept between each feed during the day, but I would keep her awake after the 3.30pm feed and then give her a bath at 6pm before her feed at 6.30 and she would then and still does (she's 4 mths now) go down for the night til 6 - 6.30am.
I'd be interested in finding a site which says what they're meant to be doing developmentaly at each age also, but don't know of one myself.

Hi,
It sounds like you are doing just great! Try not to worry too much about what they "should" be doing. All people are different and grow/develop at different rates. You will know when your bubba needs less feeds - it will just happen naturally :)
My 14 month old is still having as many feeds as your bub in a day!! Whereas my first was well and truly down to 1 a day before 12 months - they are all so different!
Good luck with it :D
Hi RB,
Sounds exactly like what my DD was doing at 3 months so don't worry. She was still having 5 BF a day at 8 months and then dramatically cut them down to 3 and its been smooth sailing since. They go at their own pace. If your all happy, just go with the flow.
As for websites, I receive a couple of email newsletters each week/month from sites which send info based on your childs age.
www.babycenter.com (also sends weekly pregnancy ones if your interested!!)
www.fisherprice.com (this does tend to have a lot of advertising though).
The babycenter one is US based but the info is still relevant and I have found it useful particularliy for what to expect or just to find out whatever Tayla is doing is completely to be expected.
Hope that helps.
Cheers

Hi again, and thanks for helping :)
I have to pick your brains again.
As I've previously said, I routine/demand feed MJ. In that she has 6 BF's a day at approx 3-4 hourly intervals. I'm flexible basically.
BUT I wake her for her last feed of the night around 9.30pm when we bath, feed then go straight to bed. Lately though she has been really hard to wake and ends up screaming. Its really distressing for all of us.
Nopw, to the question. Should I maybe try to keep her awake after the 6.30pm feed for as long as I can, then as she gets tired, bath her and give her a top up? Instead of waking her from deep sleep?
I just hate it when she gets stressed :( I've found that with this stressing she has not been sleeping as well at night either, and has been waking. All I do is give her a dummy and she goes back off which is not too bad though.
Thoughts/ideas?
Thanks
RB

I would be inclined to do that. Keep her awake after the 6:30pm feed until she is tired. When you can start to see the tired signs, give her a bath then top her up and put her to bed. See if that works.
I hate having to wake Brianna from a deep sleep too! :)
Here is a website with some good info on developmental milestones...
