Hi

My DD LOVES fruit
When she was unwell with a virus a few weeks ago she would eat nothing except fruit (grapes, bananas, mandarines, pear, apples and sultanas)

She is well again now and has gone back to eating a range of other foods but still eats a lot of fruit.

When she is hungry she always goes up to our fruit bowl and points saying appy (apple) naana (banana) or ooooorange (mandarine). I love the fact that she is asking for healthy food and dont want to discourage her so I give her the fruit but she is eating the equivelent of 3 to 4 whole pieces of fruit a day!

Is this too much?

this is the best thing your daughter could ever be doing and you are doing a great job. you're supposed to eat three to five serves of fresh fruit and five to seven serves of vegetables a day.

she's doing great guns and i wouldn't worry at all!!!!! wish all kids ate this healthily!!

Sounds fine to me! As long as she is eating a range of fruits I doubt you will have any probs. Too much of one fruit and you could have problems, ie too much banana= she gets bunged up, too much acidic fruit and she will get a sore bum and diarhea.:crying:
Sounds like you have a good health little girl!

 I really love that my bubba loves fruit - I think its great.

I have be worried though because she has had a few very runny smelly nappys that have given her bad nappy rash. At first I blamed teething but I have been wondering if the fruit has caused it.

Hi

It could be the fruit. DD1 would have quite loose BMs and when I talked to the doc she said that it was recommended that kids only have no more than one serve of fruit a day (she was having more than this). If it doesn't seem to bother or affect her - I would not try to get her to eat other things. But because she seems to have a problem with it (at least while she is having nasty nappies), I think its worth trying to limit her fruit intake by suggesting some other snacks.

Cheers
