Hi
My name is Lisa and I am currently a 'mature age' student at Melbourne ACU, studying midwifery part-time. As part of my degree, I am required to 'follow through' pregnant women from the pregnancy - birth - postnatal periods. As a student (being mentored by a qualified midwife) I can research issues for you, provide support whenever needed and provide continuity of care. Studies on the student/woman program have found that women benefit from support and a consistent, continuing relationship during the childbearing continuum. I would love an opportunity to provide that support to you!
I am a mother of two young children and I live in Ashburton and work in Melbourne. If you live near those areas (and it doesn't have to be too close!) and are interested in having me as a student midwife, please reply to this thread.
I hope to hear from someone!
Cheers
Lisa
PS - I should say it is free, there is no requirement for me to be present at the birth if would prefer me not to be there, and you must be no more than 35 weeks pregnant.
