View Full Version : Weight of baby during pregnancy!!
So i am now about 35 weeks pregnant, and Iszabellah is only approx 1.8-1.9 kgs. And a bit worried about it. We worked it out, that she is the weight of 31 weeks, so she is about 3-4 weeks underweight. I was told i might have to go in sometime in the next week or so to have her. We are a bit worried about it all. Wondering if anyone could shed some light on it all. Has any one had a baby around that size during this stage of pregnancy and if so, how has it turned out?

I have no real advice, but I am currently going through the same sort of thing. I am currently 31 weeks and at 30 weeks my little girl was the same size as a 25 week baby.
My ob has said their is the possibility of her being delivered early. The advice my obvgave me was to try not to worry to much, that my baby will be in very good hands if she needs to cone early!
Goodluck with everything!
Yeah, trying not to worry to much about it all But it is abit of a shock, the fact that i thought i had at least 5 weeks to go and now i could have her by next week.
But she has been a little bit of trouble though.
Her weight isnt actually the only problem that we are having..... She is also breech, and has very little fluid around her. And so i will more than likey be having a cesarean. So we have had a bit of drama with her, that is for sure.
I knew having a baby was hard work, but i thought that was after they were born. Not so much during the actuall pregnancy. Heheh

My DD was about that weight at 35 wks. I had her by emerg c-section at 37 wks and her birth weight was 2010g. She was tiny..she actually put on weight quite quickly once she was born.
Yes i heard that they will put alot of weight on after they are born. When i was at my weekly appointment on last thursday at the hospital, we were told that they may deliver her some time in the next week. And really, the way i am looking at it is that.. if she is out, than they can give her the nurishments that she need and might not be getting whilst she is inside me. So i am just trying to look at it as. She would be better out.
My daughter had IUGR caused by pre-eclampsia - she was delivered by emergency c-section at 28 weeks weighing 750g, around the size of a 25 weeker. She was definitely better off once she was born - while she initially lost 150g (which is normal when they're first born) she did start to stack on the weight, between 30-50g a day once she started gaining! Her doctor told us that the IUGR babies tend to be the strongest and feistiest because their survival instincts have kicked in from being undernourished in the womb, and this is definitely the case with my DD! Good luck, I hope all goes well with little Iszabellah!
