I recently came out of the stone age and decided to try some modern cloth nappies.

I ordered a couple of Pea Pods today (prior to reading bad reviews of them on bub hub... lol)
I am now freaking out that they are going to be useless, and also that the size will be wrong.
I ordered a large for my 14 monther who is just over 12 kg. He's tall, but not very chubby... he usually only wears a size 0 in his shorts/pants.
I asked the lady when I ordered, and she just said that she didn't know which size would be best.
I am really stressing that they will be too big, and will leak!

Could any one give me some kind of indication of what size fitted their child at what weight etc? Just something to put my mind at ease... :D

Thank you!!

Don't stress too much about them. I haven't had mine leak for ages. I think initially they did because they were a little big. The sizings are large. My three month old now wears the medium, but she is a chubby bubby (7kg). My 2 year old is only 11kg but I haven't tried it on him, I might give them a go on him this afternoon and let you know. I think you should be ok, if not try it on quickly and if they are too big you should be able to swap them for a medium.
Edit: Sorry forgot to add, I had my DD in hers overnight last night with the hemp and microfibre and it didn't leak at all. They are an ok nappy, but compared with others the fit isn't as good, that's all.;)

Thank you Happy Lady... I'm feeling a bit better already!:o
Compared to terry flats, I'm sure they'll be a big step up... and like you said, I can always try to exchange them if they're too big.

I bought a medium to try on DD and it is too big. Only around the waist. She is 8 1/2 months and weighs 7.3kg. She has a tiny waist though and still fits into 0-3 months swimmers!
Just don't wash them until you've tried one for size. If you ring them back the day they arrive if they are too big and not washed I don't see why they wouldn't exchange.

I fear that size large will be too big for your little fella. Connor has a large one. He's 2 1/2, short for his age & weighs about 15kg. Its too big for him... hence my leakage problem. Maybe you could contact peapods and ask if you can change your order? :fingerscrossed: Medium would prolly fit better.

Oh, bummer!!
I actually tried to call and change it this afternoon, but there was no reply!
She said that I should recieve them Monday or Tuesday, so I am assuming that they would already be on their way! :banghead:

Keep trying them. I'm sure they would exchange if you dont use them. :fingerscrossed:

I've been loving my peapods!! :smiliedance: DS is 11 months and around 13 kilos and fits beautifully into a medium, so I think your large will be too big.

I find though that if I just use the hemp insert that comes with them he wets through, but if I add a microfiber booster it lasts for a couple of hours at least. Even with both it isn't too bulky either. DS may be a big wetter though? Good luck with them!

Ok, so the nappies arrived this morning!
They seem asthough they will fit, but they are baggy in the bum? Is that just the way all pocket nappies are? It's like the outer layer and elastic at the top is much bigger than the inner layer? I'm guessing that this is for ease of 'stuffing'?
...and if I swap for the smaller size, there won't be so much extra bum material?!

Oh, I'm confused... I will go and post them off today to swap for the smaller size!
Thanks for your help :D
