I have a query and thought you lovely ladies might be able to help... (I'm new to slow cooking).

I have 500g of beef and a 350g jar of Pataks madras curry simmer sauce (not the thick paste).

Can I throw these together in the slow cooker?

Will I need to use the whole jar of sauce?

Will I need to add water?

If anyone has done this before or has any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi,

I would think it would be fine, although I am no expert. Just add the meat and simmer sauce and vegies if you wish, I wouldn't add any extra water.
I used a similar simmer sauce, the rogan josh, and did it in the slow cooker and it was yummy:).

I hope it works out yummy.

Yes, that's what I do
Check the instructions on the jar to see if you need to add water (some do, some don't). Chuck it all in and leave it :)

Thanks Ladies!

I made it put it all in the slow cooker this morning and we're having it for dinner tonight.

I just got home and found it to be a bit watery (I think from the condensation), so I've taken the lid off and now the sauce is thickening up nicely.

Meat is nice and tender!

Cheers!
