Hi there, for my DD's second birthday oI got her a dress-up-box assembled from bits and pieces from op-shops and the likes.
My hope being that she'd develop her imagination and creative play. The problem is that I'm just not the right person to demonstrate - the mere thought of playing charades fills me with horror.
I'm hoping though that with a little push in the right direction she will be a bit more spontaneous and better at these things then me - so I was thinking of starting some drama classes in a couple of months when she turns three.
The only thing is that I'm worried that places running drama classes will be full of pretentious people trying to groom their kids for show-biz. I've seen a few dance-shows (seems like drama and dance often goes together) at local fairs and these kids seem to be all about fake smiles and getting dolled up like Britney Spears.
This is the very last sort of environment I'd want her to be part of. So does anyone know if there are any drama classes for 3 year olds that's all about "just being silly" - helping them with improvisation, creativity etc?
Or perhaps I'm just stereotyping to much and most places aren't focused on grooming them for show-biz?
Oh yeah I'm in NOR Perth.
Thanks.
