I have my morphology scan tomorrow at lunch time, and I am becoming increasingly anxious about finding out the gender. I have my heart set on adding another little girl to our family, and it's all I can think about at the moment.

There is a family history of heart defects on my side, and these need to be checked for, but I also know that I wont be able to concentrate properly because I will be too interested in finding out the gender.

I know that at the scans they like to look at everything else and then find the gender for you - but do you think if I asked they would tell me the gender first?

Hey,

I think they usually like to have a look around first for what they need to check then they will look at the gender for you, I know i've asked for both my scans with my girls and they always did it last. But maybe if you told them how anxious you were about it they might do it first for you?

I know I could tell what DD2 was before the lady told me anyways because I saw the 3 white lines when the sonographer was looking about.

I hope you get another little girl :)

Im having a BOY :bee:

After the initial shock, and the few tears which were shed (because honestly I thought I was carrying a girl) - I am very happy and in love with my little man.

I actually decided against asking the sonographer to check the sex first up, as I realised that if the baby wasn't a girl that I would be a little upset, and I wanted to focus on checking the heart first.

Thanks everyone :)

1+1 = 5 His little heart looks good, the main concern was that he would have the same condition as my Dad (he was born with a bicuspid aortic valve - two branches instead of three), but the sonographer is happy that she was able to identify all three - so it looks like he will be fine. I have to have further scans to check his growth, and because I have a low-lying placenta so it will all be double checked when his heart is a little bigger.
