Just wondering what you all think. I have an average 38 day cycle and can be as long as 44 days. They are only 3 days and the 2nd day is the only day of actual flow. I have tracked my cycle and tried to figure out when I ovulate and last month was the first out of 5 cycles I think I O'ed because I had all the signs and didn't notice anything different in the past months. I have gone 3 years without a period but have just been irregular since I had my son. What are the chances I am not ovulating now? I have opk's ordered and plan to use them this month but I am nervous that I will never get a positive.

I would suggest to start recording your Basal Body Temperature as this is a pretty sure fire way to tell if you have ovulated in a cycle.

check out www.fertilityfriend.com, they have allot of information. I use them but have a printed chart by my bedside that I record on and I just update FF every week... You can buy a BBT thermometer from a chemist, they are generally inexpensive, i find it best to use the digital ones, they have 2 decimal spaces.

Thank You, Nicole. I have been reading about charting temps. and I guess that will be my next step. Thanks again. I have just been concerned my body doesn't do what it is suppose to. I would like to try and avoid the long drug out adventure of trying to concieve but I know it isn't always that simple.

I agree with Nicole - charting is the most accurate way - plus it's good to chart for a few months before going to see a Dr if that is one of your next steps. I am going to the Dr this week for blood tests to confirm whether or not I am ovulating and whether my hormone levels are alright. I have been charting for 4 months and this month is the only one I didn't ovulate. Also remember that it is really easy to miss your LH surge with the OPK's - so they aren't always reliable for everyone. Good luck :fingerscrossed:

Thanks Livy, I kind of figured charting was what I needed to do.
