Er,I have a not very nice question,but how should a "normal",breastfed,on solids,baby's poo look like?? :o
I'm still having trouble with DD's poos, they are quite firm, sometimes a bit nuggety, sometimes a couple of days between going, despite lots of fibre fruits/veges,water etc,and people are telling me different things on how it should look!
Can anyone tell me ? Thanks

Hi,

I have just had a look in my Kaz Cook book - Kidwrangling - and what you have discriped sounds normal....

once a baby goes onto solid foods there poo becomes hard.....(my girlfriends 6 month old is going thought this at the mo) and yes can go a few days without a poo...

Have you got any books to read about baby development etc?? I have a 4 week old and have a few friends with older children and they all tell me how great different books are.....

Hope all is going well

As long as it's not a funny colour and happening like diahorrea more than 5 times a day, anything's normal.

My 18 month old daughter is no longer breastfed, but imagine my shock when her poo came out blue! It was only when I discovered one non-toxic blue crayon missing that I realised where it had gone!

Hi there, my ds is the same , breastfed on solids and it can vary from day to day...he almost alternates - one b/f poo, the next quite firm. all the books i have read say the same thing - once on solids, everything else gets firmer as well...yay! what date was your bub born in feb? my ds is the 2 feb...my god, how times flies hey! :p

www.cyh.com.au is a GREAT website to look at for any types of subjects. It's the child youth and health website.

Thanks everyone for your replies and info....I feel better now about DD and her poos, they sound normal!
I never ever thought that I'd be talking about my daughters bowel motions just like I'd be talking about the weather! The joys of motherhood!
