Night Time Crying

Hi, my nearly 1yr old still wakes up during the night crying. He is usually found standing up in the cot and so tired but refuses to go back down. I cant say that i have tried controlled crying as he usually wakes anywhere from 1am to 4am. Anyone got any advice on what i can do or so good news that he will grow out of it!!

I recently experienced that with my 15 mth old and for him, I think it was teething related as he cut at least 2 molars and 1 canine that I could see a few days later. We had 2 really bad nights and 1 or 2 not so bad ones before it returned to normal.

Having said that, he woke last night crying and it was really upset and I don't know why (nothing obvious). I had to sit next to him in the cot and gently pat him until he was calm enough for me to leave. That worked, thankfully.

I don't know what's going on with my DS in the last few days - he's incredibly grizzly, so clingy and will just sit and cry in the middle of playing with his toys and will not let me out of his sight. It's exhausting and so upsetting to see him so upset.

Good luck with your little one. Perhaps a similar approach to mine might help. I know CC didn't help mine and he'd just cry in the middle of the night. We don't CC but if you've found it's not working, perhaps try something different?

Thanks for the response, we too cant do CC, but following my post, the next 4 nights he has slept through, so im putting it down to possibly teeth!! All the best
