I have pretty much always been a Liberal voter. That said, at the last federal election I thought that maybe if K.Rudd could pull off some of his promises, then maybe it wouldn't be so bad. I still voted LNP, it just meant that I didn't take it too badly when they lost :p
I remember having some 'discussions' with passionate Labor supporters on here before the election and each of those people felt that Mr Rudd was going to fix so many things - ETS, Education, Child care, Health, Reconciliation etc.
Even though I didn't vote for him, I feel let down. So I wonder if everyone feels the same or if the people who supported Labor last time will support them again this round. So have your views changed?

Yes, I have changed my mind back to them all being cr*p. I voted Liberal last time, not because I believed they were better but because I believe Krudd is krudd. Currently my choice is Abbott or Krudd. What sort of choice is that???? I can't in good conscience vote for either of them.

Of course he hasn't done everything I wanted.:p
However he has only had 3 years to undo 10 years of suffering under JHO.
He has delivered on some things, but both the major partied dissapoint me.
However I would rather see the now slightly conservative labor party win over the very conservative liberals.
I am still trying to weigh it all up in my head. I have been happy with a lot of what Labor have done. And I am glad to not have Liberals in (though I thought Malcolm Turnbull was okay, still would not vote for them though). But in all seriousness, we have some major issues facing us, and I don't know if either party is all that different when it comes down to it. I am talking about the intervention in NT, which the Liberals started and the Labor party have continued. I do not know enough about this yet to make an informed decision, and i am taking it very seriously. I need more information and am trying to read as much as I can to help with this very important decision. Everything else (just about) though get the  from me RE Labor
I have low expectations of polis.
however I feel rudd did make some positive steps.
at the same time, I feel he has made a major negative step by bringing in even the concept of payment management for large groups of people, based on race, age, where they live.. anything..

Yes it will take a lot longer to clean up that mess.
And the alternative Abbott, now thats a joke.

I feel a bit the same as Ana Gram. I don't think that I could vote for either right now. I don't trust K.Rudd - I think he has broken more promises than he has delivered on but the LNP are seriously nowhere.
Both in State and Federal politics at the moment, I honestly believe that the LNP have a massive opportunity to stand up, commit to some winning policies and to prove their abilities. But they don't. They sit back and hope that no one picks on them because they aren't in the spotlight.
It will be an interesting lead up to the election.

yeh I am a bit torn.
I am a Liberal supporter - but I hate Hate HATE Tony Abbott.
Dunno what to do if he is still there when it comes election time.
(Note - Krudd has been pretty kruddy, but overall could probably have been worse so I give him maybe 5 out of 10)

That is exactly how I feel! Never liked Kevin but tony abbott is no better!
I am usually a liberal supporter but Tony Abbott is making it hard for me

Having to vote for either of them makes me wanna poke sticks in my eyes.
Abbot or rudd, talk about a rock and a hard place. As far as I can see they are both t*ssers but hey thats politics for you isnt it.

I feel exactly the same way and said to DH last night that I will have to vote Greens.

i am disappointed in rudd but it would be a cold day in hell before i voted for the mad monk. They all as bad as each other really always have been and always will be. But letting a fanatical religious person interfere with politics to dangerous. I normally vote greens anyway even though it's really a two team race.
Hmm. I have to write an essay in a couple of weeks. I think I might research the intervention and see what I can find.

My views on politics have never changed
1 - If you donkey vote the donkey always wins
2 - All pollies are like posted turtles
I am a swinging voter and make my mind up pretty much on the day
I think a vote for Krudd is really a Gillard Vote and I do not see Abbot EVER truely treating women as equals, so I *might* just be voting kruddy this time
I am always disappointed by politicians.
I find the whole NT intervention thing horrifying but unfortunately a LOT of Australian's don't..
however at the same time I feel the liberal government don't give a **** about land rights and to me that is pretty important. they also don't care about the environment.. they care even less than the labour government..
I think greens this year.

DH is very disappointed in Rudd and is threatening to vote Abbott :shame:
We had a somwehat heated discusssion about it this morning and I reallly couldn't convince him otherwise.
I'd still rather have Kevin over Tony ANY day.

I am disappointed in Kevin Rudd, especially as now I am less likely to be able to hire an IM to attend my homebirth in future (unless I can get hte "permission" of some d-head, which is unlikely).
I am, however, far more scared of Tony Abbott and what he will do to women's rights if he's in power.

Greens.
:iagree:
I always vote Green, but the question is of preferences. Most seats come down to a race between the labor candidate and the liberal candidate (or national in some regional areas). So even if you preference the Greens first you need to rank labor over liberal or liberal over labor and that's where your vote will stop.
I'm annoyed with Kevin Rudd, I honestly thought he'd do more, but I cannot vote for Tony Abbott. I simply can't do it.
Also, I'm in one of the most marginal seats in the country, and the labor candidate is an old friend of mine, while the sitting liberal member makes my skin crawl, so my labor preference is less about Kevin Rudd and more about who I want my local member to be.

What Bron said.
I was willing to give Rudd the benefit of the doubt, but there's been too many deal breakers for me. He was voted in largely as a rejection of Howard, yet he's not been quite as distinct as many would like, myself included. :(
My preferences went to Labor last election, but that was primarily because I wanted Howard out. I feel forced to do the same thing this time, only it will be Abbott I want to see prevented from accessing power. *shudder*

I always tend to vote Greens too but now to know that the choices are Rudd with all that he has done :( & with Abbott as being my other choice :barf:::banghead::dizzy:
Can't use enough emoticons along with there being no poking sticks in eyes version either hahahah !
Dear God Abbott in power ... I haven't even the words to describe how that makes me feel.

hi, I have mostly voted liberal, and I didnt vote for K Rudd. I think he has dissappionted many of his supporters, he did make the 'sorry day' commitment, but other than that I dont think he has dellivered many promises. I dont have confidence in the labour party managing the economy. I dont want to keep the labour party in Qld, but I dont like the other guy either. I will take a while to make a decision. marie.
I am very disappointed with Kevin Rudd and the many broken promises :( but at the same time, when does a party keep all their election promises  However, I could never vote the liberal party, the thought of it makes me feel ill!
Of course he hasn't done everything I wanted.:p

 I too am disappointed LNP haven't taken this time to get their @rses into gear and come up with a really strong leadership group....
I am usually a one-eyed liberal supporter, but I just can't see them being any better atm.....
But sadly (for our country) feel almost justified :o that Labour have IMO performed so abysmally, and broken SO many promises....
Will probably have a look at the Greens this time, with Lib preference.

I never thought he would come through on his promises so no my views have not changed.
I am neither lib or labor I vote off a personal vibe lol and I liked/loved costello he knew money swan/krudd seem to splash money around iykwim. I also like gillard and Hockey shame we can't pick and choose who we want in which party lol.
I can't stand abbott however he honestly makes my skin crawl dont know why he's just creepy.
Kevin Rudd disgusts me.....what he is doing is terrifying. He is like a sneaky version of JH - if JH was a loser and did things too abruptly, Krudd has a happy way of gradually introducing nasty policies. And the terror he wants to unleash on people like me - to monitor us, like in a freaking dictatorship:no:.
If I put no.1 next to greens and leave it at that, that woudl mean I JUSt vote for greens and no other preferences go to Labour right?
Because if their preferences go to Labour.....and I don't trust the Greens to care about the welfare policies coming in, and single mother's rights (I talked to them recently - they didn't even know what their policies were! and this is somebody running for a seat!)....well, if my preferences go to KRudd.....I'll go for the mad monk.
Not after continuing the NT intervention. Not after welfare quaranteening.

A single mother voting liberal.. perhaps look bit more into liberl policies on single mothers and what JH to make their lives a misery
A single mother voting liberal.. perhaps look bit more into liberl policies on single mothers and what JH to make their lives a misery
Well if it's going to get bad let it get really bad first so that people want change.
It's just that....Rudd......Macklin - they're already out of control right now. If they're re-elected - I can't imagine what sort of things they'll start doing then.
And don't worry I remember the John Howard years very well, I was a single mum under them. Seriously, it's like, do you want to die by poison of by firing squad? There's really nowhere out of here if that's the two choices we get.
Yes my views have changed, I was sucked into the Rudd Labor spin last time.
Over the past couple of months I have been comparing policies, watching debates and actually listening to both leaders rather than getting sucked into the hysteria around their personalities.
And I am now thinking of voting Abbott, his six month paid maternity leave policy is impressive and IMO he is no more religious than Kevin Rudd who is a devout christian also - just quieter about it because he knows it does not sell.
If people dislike Abbott as leader or the Liberals that fine of course but I think it is only right to make a considered decision based on policy, rather than turing it into a popularity contest.
Also DH's job is linked to mining industry and I would rather he did not lose it so K.Rudd can play Robin Hood.
Politics just confuses me:dizzy:
And I am not Australian so I cant even vote!!
K Rudd is all I really know,and I kinda go on gut instincts...and I like him!Tony Abbot-I cant stand him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I change between Greens, Labor and previously the Democrats.
I could never in a million years vote Liberal.
In my opinion it is a party that supports the rich, is all about money, and really doesn't give a damn about anything but money. The damage that John Howard did will take more than 3 years to fix and I can't believe I am actually saying this but Tony Abbott could be even worse than Howard, and I personally believe he was an evil war-monger.
Tony Abbott has horrid views!

No my views haven't changed, although they have certainly been confirmed
Kevin Rudd has exposed himself as a leader without conviction, without commitment. So many broken promises, which is not surprising to me as his rise to government was on the back of a slick, manipulative campaign aimed at 'working' families.

Do you mean an informal vote?? A donkey vote is where you put the numbers in order down your ballot paper. It is counted though because it may just be your order of preference. It gives an advantage to the candidate on the top of the paper.
If I put no.1 next to greens and leave it at that, that woudl mean I JUSt vote for greens and no other preferences go to Labour right?
 No. If you only put 1 on your ballot paper it is an informal vote and will not be counted. You MUST fill out all the boxes.
The preferences only go where you tell them to go.
If you really don't want the Liberal or the Labor party, you need to put them as the last two numbers.

No. They may have made a deal where they have agreed to give each other preferences but all that means is that on their 'how to vote' cards the put eacother as #2.
'How to vote' cards are merely pamphlets encouraging (advertising really) what they want you to do but you are under NO obligation to follow them.
YOU the voter can put whatever you like on your ballot paper.
Just make sure you fill out ALL the boxes, otherwise your vote is removed from the pile and will not be counted.
