So dh and I are considering ttc#2. I'm just trying to see if we're financially able to at the moment. If we are making ends meet(all our bills are up to date etc), is this good enough?
I guess what i'm trying to say is what would be considered as a good financial position?'

People seem to have different views on this nowadays. IMO if you can pay your bills, rent and food and have enough to get nappies, wipes, clothes, then that's the main thing. But just take into consideration children have ongoing costs like school, sports etc.. as they get older. I think people's financial positions can fluctuate over years, I know ours has and will continue to change, it's all a part of life really. If you can pay all this and it doesn't put a dent in your weekly budget then I'd say those people are extremely privledged.
Having young children is a hard time financially whatever your situation (unless you're extremely wealthy). We all do our best :) I can't see why you couldn't have another child.

i say if you can affored to pay all the bills buy food then you should be ok, keep in mind to help you set up you get money from centerlink, and maybe parenting payment or some other money fortnightly.
we are having our second child, we struggle, to pay our bills, tho is was because of unforseen circumstance before christmas (dp had to leave his job as they kept under paying him he was on a monthly pay and was underpaid by half his pay for 3 months then he had 2 months of no pay so were still digging ourselves out of that hole) but all will be good soon. we never have had spare money to just spend on stuff we didnt need except when i was working before i got pregnant with my first.
id say you should be fine, you might have to make some small changes, but not too much. depends on how you want to live iykwim.
good luck i think you can do it.

Good luck with your decision and I hope you go forward with your plans!!! I'm in a similar situation I guess I'm learning there is never the "right" time to have a baby when it comes to financial issues! If I wait until we are comfortable I'll be too old!!!
