Are these OK when b/f?

Google sent me to kellymom - shouldhave just gone there first - lol! and it looks OK.

Ingredients are:
Paracetamol = OK
Phenylephrine Hydrochloride- which according to KM is OK, and better than pseudoephdrine.
Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide - which she has as the safest option.

So it sounds OK?

DH is due back from a 12hr night shift soon, and I have everyone coming ere for mothers day tomorrow, so need to tidy a little (NOT going overboard the way I feel!) and make 2 big lasagnes later tonight, and ATM I just feel like cr@p. Achey, headache, stuffed up - ewww! have taken panadol for now, and wll only resort to the codral cold and flu later this afternoon if I still feel awful - but with all the kids AND the stuff to do - I cant' do it the way i feel!! Bubs are almost 12months, BUT feed at different times, so through the day I feed every 2-4hrs.

ETA: I found this (http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=123660) old thread, but it says on the bottom of the box I ahve that it has a new actv ingredient and that the Phenylephrine has replaced pseudoephdrine....which I am thinking has made it safer for b/f mums to take?

The doctor looked up cold and flu tabs for me recently, and recommended a couple. I can't remember the brand, and I think I left them at work so I can't check. There was some undesirable ingredient, so I had to buy one without that. I think it could have been the one that's normally in the night tablets.

If you're in doubt, you could just leave a bit of a gap between feeds (from memory, your babies are a bit older).

Don't take them, then Phenylephrine Hydrochloride can dry your milk up!

That's why you shouldn't take Lemsip Max either :yes::yes:

Hope your feeling better soon Tan.
Was going to suggest you call Mothersafe but the hours of operation are only weekdays between 9-5. As you know being a Mum means you don't get sick on weekends...lol

Is Kellymom like MOTHERSAFE 1800647848? They're situated at the RPA & have an extensive list of what's safe during pregnancy & breastfeeding.

Get better soon! :hugs:

Susie - bugger! Looks like i'll have to suffer this one! Panadol and hot decaf are helping a little so far - if only DH wasn't going to bed soon (he is getting all the kiddie brekkie so I can rest ATM :kiss:
