Has or does anyone experience sharp pains in their cervical area? They are short and mostly happen when I'm standing and walking about. Don't know if it's the baby poking me down there or or what  When it happens they kind of take my breath away  I can't remember this with my first DS???

I had similar pains with DD2 - I just figured it was her being in an umcomfy spot and maybe putting pressure on a nerve or something - my midwife didn't seem too concerned when I mentioned it to her so I wasn't either!! Maybe mention it at your next appointment - just in case..

Yes!
I'm having these as well, the other night I was in the supermarket and I nearly doubled over, out of nowhere.
I remember having them with DD but they were nowhere near as full on (finding lots of things about pregnancy are more full on the second time around  )
It's normal, it's just baby poking you in a tender spot.
that pain your talking about is babys head engageing also hormones just your body getting ready dont worry oh yer the more kids you have more painfull p/g is

I had sharp pains for the last 4 wks of my PG, sooooo uncomfy & if I got up the wrong way I would get a really sharp pain & could hardly walk sometimes toward the end, just all the pressure from bubs:D Was kinda glad DD came 12 days early.

Unfortunately it ain't my bubs head engaging
How I WISH it were, he's transverse at 36 weeks and I think he may be giving me the shoulder nudge, lol

I had those pains alot pregnant with DD towards the end.
Me too. I'm sure dd has sneaked a pair of stilletto's in there and is busy playing dress ups. :D Or maybe she found one of those viking hats lying around.

I've been feeling this exact feeling today !!!!
And it is soooo annyoing :banghead:
Yep, I have had those pains, but even before pregnancy!?
I've always been really worried when they happen, but never thought to tell the doc about it as he already think i'm a hypocondriact.
It doesn't feel like the baby moving around either. Its much much lower then that, very hard to explain. But really makes you double over, and yes feels like being stabbed at times. *shrugs* Doc says i'm doing fine, i'm sure you are as well. I figure if they become very frequent (which mine arn't) then thats the time to become seriously concerned?

I've had them all day today, i'm pretty sure it's called 'scratching of the cervix' or maybe your little one is kicking/feeling the bottom of the uterus and it's causing this pain?
From what i'm reading your symptoms are the exact same pain i've been experiencing all day long. I've got five weeks to go, so i figure the little one is just running out of room so his/her hands/legs whatever are resting down near my cervix and they're brushing up against it and it's like a sharp pain, stops you from moving because you feel like the pain will only get worse.

I had similar and the doctor seemed to think it was bubs head pressing a nerve that runs down there in the nether regions, and when you sit or stand or do certain movements it pushes on that nerve and you get a sharp stabbing kind of pain for a couple of seconds. As long as they don't last too long I think you are fine.
