Sending lots of hugs :hugs::hugs::hugs:
Well I have had coldsores my entire life and not once have I ever had one inside my mouth. And they never cause sore swollen gums. That would be from teething. I would say that bub is teething and in pain right now, being compounded by a mouth ucler which are extremely painful (Ive had one before).
The ucler needs to be treated with antibiotics, though I have no idea if there are any suitable for such a young bub. Either way, even if you dont like Panadol, I would be giving her the maximum dose of it, the pain she must be in would be terrible. Even if the panadol isnt curing the pain, it will make her drowsy and get some rest until it wears off.
Have you considered phoning the 24hr health nurse hotline? I know bubs van be administered extra panadol, but no way would I do it without being told by a qualified Doctor or nurse. Call the hotline and see what they say :yes:

thanks, I know all about coldsores to which is why the dr thinks that is what it is, I have been using panadole but it is hard to administer and she has a gag reflex if done to fast so sometimes she dosent get enough. her gums werent just swollen but had a yellowish tinge on the edge, anyway last night she got in some panadole and slept better but the swelling is down. thanks

Could it be Hand foot and mouth? My little girl had it not very long ago.
Did the doc take a swab for testing? If so you will know one way or the other if it is that or something else.

I thought hand foot and mouth to but the dr didnt say and no he didnt take a swab actually he didnt really look at her gums, he was more interested in getting her weight and size because it was her first dr visit since birth. she is much better today :yelclap: and I got a great sleep in today so Iam much better :yes: but would still like to know what it was so will just have to wait and see if it happens again and if so it may be coldsores nut I hope not they are a curse.
