:wave:Hi

I have been thinking for a while to get a thread going for chit chat. I am always thinking that I dont have alot of friend, esp ones with kids, and I am *hoping* I'm not the only one :o. And would be good to get to *know* some people around my area. A bit about me: I live in Safety Bay, married, 28 with a 3.5 year old ds and a 1.5 year old dd. Anyone is interested in a chat? :flowerz:

How is everyone? Havent had much of a chance to pop in here last few days as the kids are.. lets just say fun at the moment. We are hitting a few developmental stages, and they are a crack up. DD is really DS quiet the run for his money. Love it though, keeps the day interesting. Thinking of maybe finding a playgroup to go to on either tuesday or thursday mornings. Any suggestions? :goodvibes:

hi Kris - sounds like your days are as challenging as mine! Sounds like we have similiar aged children so it must be alot of fun in your household too!
we go to a small playgroup in the Baldivis area - but I think there are quite a few around which are closer to Safety Bay. I think that it is sometimes just giving a few a go to see which one suits you and your kids the most. The YMCA in Warnbro also has some nice activiites - they have a moove n groove class there on Tuesday which is fun for the kids of all ages.

jellybean07 - Fun is one way to put it :laughing:. The kids and I are sick at the moment so thats slowed it down a little. The YMCA warnbro is great. DS goes to thriving threes there. We did the kindergym there on tuesdays before dd was born, might start up again when we are better.

sndgroper - DD = Dear Daughter
DH = Dear Husband
DS = Dear son

hope the kids are better Kris - its definitely not nice when they aren't well.

What's thriving 3's like? I am thinking of starting my daughter with something next term to prepare her for kindy - how long does it go for? they stay there by themselves, don't they? Or do you stay also?

Thriving threes was / is great. Its from 12.30 to 2.30 and they do it on mon and wed i think. You drop off and pick up take a water bottle and piece of fruit or veg. They do painting every second week and other activities on the alternate. They have fruit time etc. DS LOVES it. My nephew screamed for the first few weeks when he got dropped off but he now cant wait to get there. The teachers are awsome. So caring and tollerant. Next term we are doing fun for fours (they need to be 3.5 to do it) and its 12.30 to 3.30 on tues (not sure if they do another day or not). We are doing it to get DS ready for kindy as he has never been to day care etc and I was worried how he would go. Would definately recommend warnbro ymca to anyone.

DD getting better but DS is only now getting sick:rolleyes:. Although he went swimming today which was good fun. Watching them go down the big slide with life jackets on was :laughing:.

sounds good - sounds like it will be perfect for my little one. perhaps the fun for fours will be more appropriate as she will be 3.5 by then. fingers crossed she will love it too.

Memie - Baldivis is lovely. We kinda regret moving out of there, but we love where we are :goodvibes: Hoping to eventually knock down our house and rebuild (its very old).

jellybean07 - Maybe we will see you there next term. It really is fantastic.

tracynben - How long have you been in Australia for?

Kids are finally on the mend. 4 weeks of sickness and no sleep real;ly takes a toll. :fingerscrossed: by this time next week DD will finally be all better.

Hey ladies thought id pop my head in and introduce myself, living up North at the moment (Beechboro) but making the move to Erskine early July and i wont know many people (DFs parents live there and 2 of his Auntys n a cousin or 2) but other than that i wont know anyone.
Was hoping to find some lovely bubhub ladies who could tell me of any activities/programs around the area so i can get myself out there n meet new people!
hope everyones having a good week!

Hi All

I'm in Port Kennedy - we go to a Thursday playgroup held at St Bernadette's church hall, it's not related to the church or school - just happens to be held there, so nothing religious :) It's 9.30 - 11.30am, quite a good little group (and walking distance from our house so why I chose it).

My 4 year old did Thriving Threes too at Aquajetty which was great. BUT - I switched her to Waikiki Playschool which is a 3yo kindy - you do full days there so much easier for drop-off and pick-up than a 2 hr session with other littlies. It's registered as a daycare so you can get rebates for the fees if you're eligible, and they run a proper kindy program for 2.5-5 yr olds, we were really happy with it. Plan to send my DD2 there next year as I have all post-July babies so all at home with me for an extra year - yay :) Just have to get her toilet training sorted out, she's being quite stubborn i all the wrong ways :(

Anyway, just thought I'd say hello to all as well :)
