Maternity Bra Sizes.

Why are maternity bras so UGLY? Ok, why are the ones that fit me so ugly? I went to get fitted and measured today, and as I suspected, I'd gone up yet another cup size. 16 F :eek: F for freaking huge!

A - B- C - D - DD - E - F - G...

How many sizes did you go up? Where did you find nice(-er!) bras that were not beige granny bras?

I only went up one size & got 3 maternity bras just from target which were nice & fitted fine. Good luck though :)

I've gone from a C cup to an E cup during pregnancy. I can't find E cup bras on the shelves anywhere here so I buy mine online. I pay around $50'ish each bra, but it's the only option I've got. But I know what you mean about not being very nice, or sexy even. Maternity bras are sooo ugly, I'd love to find a maternity bra that actually looks sexy.

Faeml sorry to hear you are having so much trouble - bra shopping is not much fun when you are a larger size!

I am 26 weeks pregnant and they have grown so big! I am still trying to squeeze into a Target DD but it is quite painful so I will definately be bra shopping very soon! Hopefully with a well fitted bra my back will get a bit of a rest!

I bought 2 maternity bras from target in C cup, one is a T shirt bra and I really like it. I expect I will have to go bra shopping again though!

with DS i went from a D to a F

with DD1 I went from DD to E

with DD2 I went from DD to F but now back to an DD thankfully!

I used to be a 12A before I got pregnant with Matthew. When he was 3wks old, I believe I was about a 12J.....but of course, you can't get anything bigger than a 12DD. I had a 12DD....the clip on it only reached the bottom of my nipple, so I had to leave it undone. I could have gone up to a size 16 or 18 to get a proper cup size, but then I would have been falling out the bottom instead of the top, lol.

I didnt change sizes at all, right through my pregnancy or the first yr of breastfeeding........BUT since MJ turned one, i've gone from a 14DD to a 14F :eek: So i know what you mean about being HUGE :yes:

I went from a 12DD cup to a 12F cup but I think I may be a G cup now. *rolls her eyes*

Anyway, I managed to find an E cup lovable bra at Myer that was stretchy enough that it feels ok to wear. I dont think they go up to F.

I did find a creamy beige coloured Bendon in an F at myer as well that is quite nice as maternity bras go. You can see it here:

Although not the most stylish or sexy looking, Triumph make a comfortable one called "Triumph Lace" (http://www.bellaforma.com.au/shop/Lace-Maternity-Bra-pr-16382.html) which comes in... :eek: black as well as granny beige :eek:

Goes up to 24F which at least covers me. Good luck to everyone else out there!

With DD I was 12C to start then ended up 14DD
went back down again and so now with this little man have gone to 14D (at 26weeks ish)

Can anyone tell me If I can expect to get bigger gradually throughout my pregnancy or will my boobs just pop out at the end when bub is due, or after the birth?
Sorry if this sounds like a blonde question, but this is my first and my boobs are still fairly small.

Everyone is different with this. I started growing straight away, where others don't increase in bra size until their milk comes in, then after a few weeks they're back to normal. I've read that it's recommended around 5/6 months to get a proper fitting, and that you should be able to put a fist in the cup, and that's what you should expect to grow to. But again, everyone is different. I did that, but had to go up another size. I suppose you don't really know until the end of your pregnancy, or even once your milk comes in.

Mine sort of 'popped out' twice, once right at the beginning, and again towards the end. My bump did the same thing.

Just wondering... does anyone know why bra cup sizes go C, D, DD, E, F, G... Why is DD the only double letter you normally see?

Thanks! :hugs: Shortly after I took that I started learning airbrushing and ive been running around making all my high res photos look like Ralph shots. :laughing:

I have no idea why DD is the only double. Maybe around that size women just grow gradually and not in spurts and so they had to make an in-between size? I haven't the faintest! Very odd.
If you get fitted properly they probably make double of all the other letters. Not sure though cause ive never been fitted properly.

Somehow I can't imagine myself being any bigger than a D cup (currently C, normal B) so time will tell...

I was an F at 16 weeks.....I bawled and bawled and bawled...and bawled...... the bra that they made me take at Myer was so ugly and I felt so horrible in it. I swear it has more fabric in it than a circus tent!

In the end I went to Target and got some 16 D cup maternity bras, and I just wore them...and still do. They dont have wire, I dont run...and 90% of the time now if I'm at home I just dont wear a bra. They are quiet pretty too!

I refuse to be made to feel so ugly. Wish they would make some pretty bras for larger busted women!

Well with DS#1 I went from FF to JJ (Yep the largetest size they do):eek: and I had to have a larger back size then have them altered to fit. I've always been fairly big busted I was a D when I was 14, but I never imagined that it would be this nightmare. After DS#2 I have eventually gone down to a F/G depending on range. We are now talking of TTC#3 and I'm freaked as to what I will end up this time :eek: :crying: It is such a nightmare to get bras to fit normally and then if I end up that size again what will I do, we live in the country so there is nowhere nearby that I can get anything from it means either going to the city or trying to get something online.

Lol, welcome to my world. Im normally a DD, so I have to purchase my regular bras from Bras n Things anyway. For some reason the chain stores don't think 10-12DD is a good size to stock. *shakes a fist*

I was a 10C..went to 12D when preggie then to 12DD feeding Bras..Have stopped BFing now & am a 12C....I don't think I'll ever be the same again!!!!:crying: :laughing:
