OUCH cracked nipples!

Hi

I am feeding my 5 week old DD. At 4 weeks I dealt with mastitis and that is all good now but I have massive cracks around the base of my nipples. These are mega mega sore and very painful to feed. I have also had nipple thrush in the last week too.

I have been using a nipple shield for some feeds which helps but I don't feel she's getting a good feed when in use. It doesn't feel like she's draining the breast when feeding with a nipple shield.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Lasinoh cream or pawpaw ointment smothered over your nipples will work wonders :)

Just wipe your nipples with a warm washer before feeding to remove cream.

Cracked nipples are awful :hugs:

Lasinoh is THE best, it is just miracle cream! :-)

And you dont have to wipe it of before feeding, completely fine if bubs gets some in their mouth too.

Lots of bra off time, air drying is best :yes:
