Hello, my name is Kellie Donlan and I am a third year uni student studying Nursing and Midwifery at UQ, and I am passionate about midwifery!

I am looking for any mums-to-be (ideally no further along than 32 weeks) over the course of the year giving birth at: Wesley Hospital, Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital or Mater Mother's Hospital South Brisbane, that would be interested in having me follow your pregnancy.

As a component of our midwifery assessment this year, I need to complete pregnancy follow-throughs with mums-to-be. That is, I would follow you through your antenatal period and accompany you to any antenatal visits or classes, support you through your labour and birth, then follow you postnatally to see how you and bub are going and attend any postnatal check-ups. If at any point you no longer wish me to follow your pregnancy, you are free to withdraw, any time, no questions asked!

I have an official brochure and explanatory letter supplied by UQ that explains the follow through that I can email or post to anyone kind enough to consider participating or who would like to know more.

In NO way would I be replacing the role of your primary care provider (Midwife or Doctor)! I am there to support you through your pregnancy in any way you need, and be involved as much or as little as you feel comfortable with, while all the time learning so that I may be a better midwife for future mums-to-be!

I would consider it a privilege and would be very honoured if you would be kind enough to allow me to share this very special experience with you!

If you have any queries or would like a copy of the brochure, please feel free to email, phone or sms me at any time. I look forward to hearing from you!

Thank you kindly, and to all mums-to-be I wish you the very best of luck for what is to come!
