View Full Version : Don't know how to feel........
Hi,
Just needing somewhere to chat. I was just surprised to find out I was pregnant with no.3 after some spotting which I assumed was my period. I had an ultrasound assuming they would tell me the baby would not make it as I have m/c before. When I had the ultrasound the yolk sac was perfect and the 1mm baby (dot) could be detected so we were estatic and couldn't believe we would be having another baby at Christmas. I had no more bleeding from Wed till yesterday and now I'm worried again. I know I won't know until my ultrasound next week but we had just been given such good news that we were really happy and amazed that we would be adding to the family and talking about where the baby would sleep etc I just don't know how to feel.
I will have my next ultrasound on Thursday to try and detect a HB - if I bleed anymore before then I don't know how I'll be able to sit there again.
Does anyone have any positive bleeding during early pregnancy stories?

I DO! after a faint positive HPT i went to docs a few days later (public holidays meant we had to wait a few days) and docs urine test showed inconclusive, she sent me for bloods which were ALSO inconclusive (sooo frustrating), i did about 1000 more HPTs which got stronger and stronger by the day and waited for 10 days before my HCG levels got high enough for bloods to say i was definitaly pregnant but it may be blighted ovum, missed miscarriage or ectopic.
Fast foward some scans and checks etc and YAY i was properly pregnant i was just not as far along as originally thought.
On xmas day 08 i was 5 weeks and started spotting, spotting turned into heavier bleeding and being xmas docs were closed so i just waited it out for a week till i went to docs in first week jan (6 weeks). She sent me for more bloods, scans etc and diagnosed 'threatened miscarriage, 50-50% chance of positive outcome". Bleeding got stronger, darker and i started to cramp (i have had previous m/c a few years ago and that was all over from start to finish in one day so i was at least pleased that this one seemed to be hanging in there) i bled and cramped for 3 anxious weeks before it all just faded away and i went on to have a perfectly healthy pregnancy after that!
I hope everything works out for you and try to stay positive :hugs:

I had a bleed which would have been at about 3-4 weeks. I actually didn't know I was pregnant and it was heavy enough and over about 4 days that I presumed it was my period.
9 months later I have a very happy and healthy DS.
:fingerscrossed: for you.

Congratulations! Lots and lots and LOTS of women experience early bleeding from little spots to heavy bleeds and they still have successful pregnancies. Try to relax and let your body decide what is best for you - miscarriage, although I know it's so devastating, happens for a reason - usually because there is an abnormality with the embryo. If you've had an ultrasound that looks good so far, you're on the right track. There are a lot of reasons for early bleeding that has nothing to do with the health of your pregnancy and the problem can resolve itself before you know it. I wish you all the luck in the world that this will be the baby you're so excited for!! :hugs:
