I got my first fluffy mail yesterday.

Greens kids pocket. I liked these cause they are "one size fits all" rather than having to buy different sizes throughout the babys nappy lifetime.

Anyone who has the following pockets, can you please rate them out of ten for me.

Greens Kids Anytimes /10
BumGenius /10
Sandras Stuffables. /10

And

Was the Anytimes actually ok for a newborn.. not too big and baggy?
Have you tried bamboo prefolds and are the better than hemp prefolds?

Thanks!

The Green Kids: 9 / 10
Sandras Stuffables 7 / 10 (I have the aplix closure not the side snaps though)

I only used the Greens from a month old and they fitted perfectly, sorry didn't use them on her as a really new one. The SS's are still a little big on my girl (she's 3 months), they are the 7 - 14 kg I think. She's just on 7kg now.

Would give the Greens 10/10 as they are my favs !
Depending on the size of your baby they arent suitable to be used as a pocket nappy on a newborn. For a newborn you would use your terry flats then the Greens as a cover because they are just a bit too big. For me i couldve used them from the start as i had a hippo lol who was already the size of a 2mth old when born !
So you will really have to wait & see how you go when bubs is born but i would say your best bet is buying a few nappies that are newborn size if your not wanting to use terry flats.

I am curious about the BumGenious style as they look pretty good but im not sure whether i will get them or not.

Sandras are really good id say 9/10 i like the snaps as it means my horror head son cant get the nappy off as easy now that he has found that he can with the aplix !! I also like that they because he is a big boy & needing a bigger size these fit a bit better now otherwise if he was the normal size for his age we would be fine with the Greens.

Sandra's Stuffables are my favourites. They just fit my boy really well. I especially like the side snap version because DS can't undo them and it provides adjustability at both the waist and thigh (good for my skinny waist, chubby thighed boy). They can be a bit 'puffy' looking so don't appeal to everyone but it all comes down to personal choice. I also like that they can contain a lot of stuffing for a super wee-er.

Green's Anytimes - again, mine are the older version and the main problem I found was that I couldn't get enough stuffing in. They have come out with new 'models' since so I can't comment on them. They are a nice trim nappy and very easy for other care givers to change (like DH or grandparents). The microsuede also makes for a trimmer nappy than those that use microfleece. Both work well, again personal preference, I prefer fleece. I have some custom made Green's in a newborn size (ready for #2) but that's just because I prefer sized nappies to one-size-fits-alls because I hate bulk and don't want to compromise on fit (nothing worse than explosive bf poo).

Haven't tried BumGenius.

I'm yet to try Green's anytimes (just finished their 3rd wash so will go on DD tonight). DD is 7.3kg and 8 1/2 months old. She's tiny. She was big born though. They are huge on her, bulky I mean. I use fuzzi bunz on her now and they are a true trim fit to me. I prefer sized nappies but needed something for overnight (used to get 12 hours out of fuzzi bunz, but now only get 10...DD sleeps 12) and everyone on here raves about Green's and I figured the bulkiness doesn't matter for bed but I won't be using them for daytime. I put one on DD, just to see what it looked like and we have to bunch it up so she can have her legs normal. I wouldn't like her to be crawling/walking with that much bulk.

Personally, comparing a sized nappy and a one size nappy I don't see how a nappy that can fit a toddler can fit a newborn without being really bulky on the newborn, no matter how trim they are.

That's just my opinion of course, and by buying sized nappies I don't get all the pretty colours. I stick to neutral colours so that future kids can use them too.
