My nearly 2 year old DS has started putting hiss hand down the front and through the leg area of his nappy. Which was ok until he decided to do it today after doing a poo. As soon as he did it he cryed and wanted his hand washed. He doesnt talk yet so the cry was probably to get me to wash his hand. So is this normal? Is it a sign his ready for toilet training? How to stop it? thanks!

Joie I know how you feel :hugs:

One of my twins Nick did this as well and we tried TT which worked for us!

Just hope he does not get in to Poo Art on the walls :barf:

 My son went through a phase like this too.

I thought it meant he was ready for TT, but he didn't really respond to that until more recently (he's 2.5.) It was just annoying and gross but he got over it.

Ah yes, my mother dealt with this with my brother. Except he didn't cry to have his hand washed !

He used to scoop the poo out, then hand it to her at inopportune moments (cooking dinner, answering the door etc).

One incident, mum was watching him in the bath while fiddling around cleaning out some bathroom draws when he announced that he had a passenger in his boat called 'Mr Pooey head'. Well, no need to give any more detail on his passenger. He cried all night when Mr. Pooey head was flushed away. Poor little tyke :p
