I had it for at least the first three months and was chucking almost from the moment I woke up. I would usually feel sick for the rest of the day too. I haven't been able to drink banana milk since after chucking that up through my nose!

With my first, I was feeling like total **** until about 16wks and threw up a couple of times.

With my second, I was sick for about 6wks.

With my 3rd, I was sick for a week, but only had one day where I felt like absolute ****.

With this one, I have been off colour for a week, but not bad enough to really notice.

I am 15 weeks and I have :barf: only 4 times in total. 2 times I also had a bad headache and the other 2 times was when I had the flu. I have felt nauseous at night alot and quite often go to bed dry retching and find it really hard to brush my teeth at night without gagging!!
I always wake up hungry and have always had a good breakfast, morning is when my stomach feels the best. So I guess you could say that I had morning sickness in reverse :p

I didn't have morning sickness, I had all day sickness, which consisted of really bad nausea and extreme tiredness, but no vomiting thank goodness.
It was the same for both pregnancies (maybe slightly worse with the 1st) and lasted roughly about 8 weeks, stopping around the 16week mark.

LOL, me too!!! I've been sitting here since 5:30 eating baked beans on toast. I woke up at 4:30 starving to death, tried to get back to sleep but hunger over-ruled the sleep, LOL.

Had morning sickness from virtually the day of conception to the day of birth with both of the boys - so much so that the dentist pointed out that I have acid damage on my back teeth on my last visit.
Thanks boys!!!

Mine was fine. I threw up once when i had lasagne and a chocolate milk for lunch (haha yuck! :p ) but it was more just from a bad combination.

I had a little nausea every few days, and sorta went of some food. But it was all manageable, i was pretty lucky!! :)

Why do they call it morning sickness?

I had it all day, vomiting after every meal and nauseaous in between. It was terrible. I lost heaps of weight at the start went down to 46 kgs from 52kgs. It was awful.

I said i was never having another baby:laughing:

Luckily at about 20 weeks I started feeling less nauseouas but then I started feeling dizzy all the time and fainting heaps!

I had a horrible pregnancy, but it was worth it in the end with my darling little man:yes:

I've had pretty bad m/s since day one. It did ease up at around 20 weeks for about 6 weeks, but now it's back, even worse than before. I've worked out though that milk drinks (milo or ice coffee ... mmm yum) eases the m/s. Pitty I can't live on that!

Hi all

I stopped throwing up with morning sickness during my first pregnancy the morning after DD was born! The first five months I could hardly keep a thing down and if it did stay down it was junk food. I couldn't stand the smell of meat or vegetables - in fact, the amount of times i ate vegies during that pregnancy could be counted on one hand! For the remainder of the pregnancy, i threw up several times each morning, but came good by late morning.

This time around - at almost 29 weeks, I'm still throwing up every morning, but it passes very quickly and so is pretty manageable.

I tried every morning sickness remedy known to man (or woman), but as my obstetrician says, I'm just bloody unlucky! Suffice to say, I've already brought home a vasectomy brochure for hubby - I don't think i could cope with MS a third time!

I was fairly sick with ods but it was mainly in the morning i was only nauseous at work and was sick again towards the late afternoon/early evening. That lasted from about 8 - 14 weeks.
With my second son i was just mainly a bit nauseous nothing bad and i didn't throw up at all. This time i am sick all the time, i haven't kept much down and feel awful all the time. It started at 6 weeks and it's slowly easing up now at 12 weeks but some days are better than others :(

1st preg I had absolutely none, while my auntie who was preg at the same time had really severe morning sickness. I really felt awful for actual not feeling sick.

With 2nd preg I never got sick, but certain smells repulsed me during the first trimester. I couldn't go in the meat section of the supermarket, which was hard as the bread, frozen vegies, eggs, etc were all near that area. It meant I'd go through there as fast as I possibly could without taking much notice of how much something was!
I did get heartburn with 2nd preg, though. That was brought on by too many homemade choc chip cookies!

With DD, (sorry for the TMI in advance) the toilet and I were like this :fingerscrossed: for 6 months STRAIGHT!
I mean ALL day, ALL night, EVERY day and EVERY night.

My Dr couldn't believe the baby was growing normally.
I had guests that came over to our place and I never actually saw, cos i spent the entire night in the bathroom :barf:
I can not possibly tell you how awful the morning sickness was and it felt never ending.
But to give you an idea, I had :barf: so much and so badly, I had damaged a nerve behind my eye. I had to go to the optometrist, who sent me to an opthamologist, who sent me to another one... argh... it was a nightmare.

With DS (which took me ALOT of courage to get pg again in fear of going thru that m/s again!:o ) I felt queezy for about 2 months, from 2nd month to 4 months. It was more discomfort and uneasiness of the tummy.. but only acted on it once the entire time.

So definitely different with each pregnancy here.

Hi,
I had no morning sickness with my first child, but this time around I have not been so lucky. I find I am crook from after lunch onwards. I have problems trying to find food that wont make me feel sick! The supermarket is definitely not a good place for me these days, and I am definitely having problems with meat at the moment. I just cant seem to stomach some types of meats! Oh its horrible! I hate feeling sick!

I was actually put in hospital 2 times because m/s with dd was that bad that I was completely dehydrated!! I vomited everything including water.. I was that bad that I had damaged all my osophagus(sp?) and it was bleeding when I was sick.. I was put on the drip with maxolon and zantac this went on for 17 weeks..
Finally as I was getting better I started wanting salad sandwhiches all day all night dh would come home (I was in bed rest all day nite) at lunch make me sandwhich and then go back to work. Then it went to bacon and eggs on toast I would eat bacon all day and night until I got energy back and finally I was able to go back to work etc...

AS far as worrying about the baby my doctors kept telling me that the baby is very healthy and thats why she was taking everything from me. My gp said they are like parasites and while I might be sick the baby is thriving!!! The only thing they worry about is dehydration...

With ds I was sick but just didn't eat not half as bad as dd..

DD I lost 15kgs
DS I lost 13kgs

I'm 38 weeks and still suffering with it! I'm controlled by meds now as the docs kept insisting it would stop but it didn't. Before the meds, I vomitted approx 10 times a day all time of day and night, but more importantly couldn't even keep a sip of water down. I was in and out of hospy more times than I can count to get rehydrated, and then finally, the meds!

Good luck to all suffering! :hugs:

I had morning sickness throughout my entire pregnancy. At first I couldn't stand the smell of fish or garlic. I loved tomatoes and beetroot though.
I tried taking ginger tablets and drinks but that didn't really help. I ended up chewing minty gum or peppermints for the last 4 months. I found that helped a lot.

You know when you've been drinking, and you know it's only a matter of time before you've got your head in a toilet bowl? I had that feeling ENDLESSLY for the first trimester...it was disgusting. Unfortunately, I never had the RELIEF of actually throwing up...

With DD I had morning sickness from 8 - 28 weeks EVERY SINGLE morning, sometimes mid morning aswell. It came back around 37 weeks, but wasn't as bad.

With this pregnancy, I had bouts of sickness from 5 weeks - 14 weeks, then nothing at all. I think it has alot to do with the fact that this time I'm not working full time, having to get up and get dressed and rush off to work. Eating breakfast also helps, IMO.

Nothing's worse than chucking your guts up everyday though!

I had severe morning sickness up until about 7 mnths. It really affected my whole lifestyle. I could hardly leave the house it was so bad. Any smell would set it off. I remember as soon as I got back home from being out anywhere when I'd walk in the door the smell from the house being all locked up and windows and doors closed would always make me vomit. I was forever spraying room deodorisers.

they used to automatically put you on iron tablets, are you taking any?

I knew a lady who got so malnourished, her nails started to loosen and her hair went thin.

the baby is taking it from you all the time
iron tablets make you hungry and make you feel bouncy. the iron binds to your blood cells, enabling them to take in more oxygen = you feel better.
one thing, they make your poo black and if you take them too long they make you constipated.
I take them sometimes now when im feeling run down. Just one a day for a week then every other day until the birth.make sure you eat roughage.

I dont know if it helps with sickness, i cant remember but it did prevent me getting malnourished.

I had the all day sickness, I couldn't keep much down. Mine started from about 6 weeks up until I gave birth. Some days it was just the nausea (which i think is sometimes worse than the vomitting)
It was hard as I am a childcare worker and trying to encourage the kids to eat was hardest cos when you feel absolutely awful the last thing you want to do is eat. Even the smell of the food cooking was bad. :barf:

I had HIDEOUS all-day-sickness from about 4 wks until the day I popped! The first few months were the worst... hospitalised twice. It did calm down a bit. At the end the constant nausea went & I only threw up a few times a week. It was just a lifestyle by then, I'd :barf: then just keep doing what I was doing! Despite all this, I still loved being pregnant (..hmmm most of the time!!!) & I know it sound cliche, but I'd do it a million times over just for 1 glimpse of my little princess

I had managable morning sickness, and I found the best way to deal with it was to eat!! I know its the last thing you feel like doing, but my husband insisted on it and it always ended up helping
