Hello, I am tandem feeding DS (20 mths) and DD2 (6 mths). And I'm pregnant.

Anyway DS will be 2 when I'm about 4-5 months preg, which is my breastfeeding minimum age, so if he self weans then I am cool with it.

DH thinks there is absolutely not a chance lol.

I am just wondering what people's experiences are...

My milk supply should stay pretty good but will the change in taste be enough to put him off? Obviously it wasnt last time but he was much younger then.

My DS1 was 26 months when I was 3 months pregnant. There was no way he was self weaning - but it got so painful to feed that I had to wean him. Only took a about a day of tears and got much easier after that. He is still boobie obsessed and would be still feeding if I had let him. Good luck :)

DS1 weaned when I was 4 months pregnant, he was 19 months. My milk supply had gone completely and it was time, I couldn't handle the dry comfort sucking it was excrutiating and toe curling and I HATED IT!

Breastfeeding aversion sucks!

Yeah I know... having been through it before. I was really enjoying nipples that didn't hurt, until bang, pregnant again. DD2 (6 mths) is okay, but feeding DS who's 20 mths is really not comfortable, unless he is half asleep and not thrashing his head around etc.

I doubt I will lose my supply as I didn't last time.

I'm trying to just distract DS a bit, see if he wants cuddles or water when he asks for 'bibby'. I don't want to cut him off though.

Was really hoping he would self wean tat 4 mths but sounds like it's loss of supply that prompts that, not the change in taste.
