Maya is here!!

woo hoo! so happy, shes unbeleivable, lovely , placid and alert

Maya Rose arrived at 1:14 pm on thurs 18th after a 10 hour labour

she weighed 3520g and was 53.5cm long

i was 6 days overdue and went into labour naturally (take heart all those waiting!)

(i had been using clary sage oil in bath and massage oil, took ras leaf tablets and tea, ate hot curry, walked and had sex in the days leading up to it, but who knows whether it helped or not !!??)

we got home yest and will post the whole story very soon

finally got a photo on here to show you all :D

a little bit more about my birth story , have almost forgotten how painful it all was now...funny that :rolleyes:
after wishing for as natural as possible birth i ended up having gas for the first 4 hours then pethadine AND an epidural at the last minute which only slowed down the contractions down so i had to be put on the syntocin drip
she was not straight in my pelvis and kept going back in and out, after a while they said that if i didnt push her out in half an hour i might have to go to theatre :eek: so after all that i pushed like a mad woman and they pulled her out with the vontuse (spelling?) i had an episiotomy and still tore as well but honestly am feeling so good now
its just so wonderful to be a mumma !
