Hi Everyone

Due to day to day life taking over (work, family etc), my DD who is 3 in June and myself have started to find ourselves a little isolated and without many friends. We also have limited family in Sydney and my daughter who is an only child (unable to have more) also has no cousins.

We would love to see if there are any other people in similar situations who would be interested in friendship and playdates? We are available on Thursdays and Friday afternoons (we do swimming Friday mornings).

Drop me a line and we can see what happens!

I'm Amber. I'm 27, currently 32 weeks. DH is 30 and married in 2008.

We moved to the St George area 5 weeks ago from Brisbane, due to Hubby's work. So I too, am looking for people to socialise with; with and without children present.

I am originally from Wollongong, come from a large family and husband is a country boy at heart from Perth. I am missing bbqs, coffee's, dinner parties, music events (whether it be U2 concert or "a day on the green" outing), hanging out with our friends (both girls and couples) and to be honest, work. Both DH and I are career minded, however my HR/Recruitment has gone on the backend while I am having little bubba's.

One thing that I am loving being in Sydney is the Beach!
O' how I have missed it, driving to Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast was a whole day event. We went to Cronulla the other day and it was excellent to be so close to the beach and just enjoy the coffee and atmosphere.

At the moment, I rarely leave the house as i don’t know anyone near me or around our age group. I would love to possible meet up for coffee or meet up in a park and get to know others throughout the week; we would also like to go out for bbq’s as couples/families on the weekends. I am happy to travel either by public transport or on the days that I can grab Hubby's work car.

If you have had some luck in social groups or that of the like (as some of these posts are from last year), it would be great to hear from you so you can point me in the right direction also – So I don’t go stir crazy.

Cheers,
Amber

Morning ladies hope you are all well, having great pregnancies and even better bubs.

Just wondering if we should try and organise a play date or those of you utd a coffee.

It would he lovely to meet some other mums, mums to be and bubs.

I'm 31, single, but just started living with fob so we can afford to stay in Sydney. Dd is almost 11 months and is a social little thing just like me. It's so far so good living with fob, thank goodness we have stayed friends for the sake of miss P.

I'm on maternity leave for another 12 months and we live in gymea.

Would love to see a show of hands on who is interested to meet new mums and mums to be.

Have a great day. Tracy

Hi Ladies.

Ok, I don't know what happened - On the weekend I thought I replied to this thread about catching up today. I went on this morning to see if you had replied and realised I mustn't have hit the "reply button" on Saturday. Who knows what I thought I was doing on the weekend then.

Well I had the car yesterday and today. I was thinking last weekend we could catch up today as I had a hospital appointment today also, however you didn't get the message I thought I sent.

A Mothers Love - I will have to check with hubby tonight which days I am able to have the car. Either tomorrow or next week on your free days; Mon, Tues and Wed

TNTbub - I have my baby shower on this Saturday and prefer to catch up on the weekdays, unless you would like to catch up with my hubby on Sunday also :)

Do you think that you would have a Mon, Tues or Wed free some time in the future. With your shift work do you work afternoon/night/weekends. Are you shifts regular days each week?

We'll organise a time to all catch up, it may take a little planning :) Hopefully I do 'go' before we actually arrange a time to catch up. LOL

TNT night shift and preggers wow that must be hard.

Were you amber?

I just read my thread again. It was meant to say "We'll organise a time to all catch up, it may take a little planning :) Hopefully I don't 'go' before we actually arrange a time to catch up. LOL"

I have an appointment on Wednesday at St George Hospital at 11.00am, which means that I will probably get in around 12.00pm.. I will have the car, would you like to catch up for lunch or a tea/coffee in the arvo. I am easy, what ever is suitable for you.

I live in Beverley Park, a little pocket near Ramsgate and Kograh Bay. The only time I have been on the other side of the bay is when I go to Cronulla beach. I have a GPS though; Can you suggest a place to meet around your area or on your side and I can meet you out there.

TNTbub - Would you be able to catch up on Wed?

Hi Tracy!

Thanks for letting us know - i'm still trying to work out what's on and where! Gymea is actually great for us as the other half runs a coffee shop there and we often go and see him at work.

I think we'll come to the playgroup on Friday as we have gym class tomorrow (trying to get him out as much as possible!). Are you sure I don't need to be a member of the parish to attend?

Thanks again,

cool ill be there! .... hopefull i dont walk up to the wrong group or something haha

I'm the red head and probably the only one with a pram with 4 wheels. Lol I don't like 3 wheel prams.

I will have a hot pink nappy attached to the bonnet of the pram using it as a sun shade. Plus have a red nappy bag on the handle of the pram

Hey there,

I'm moving to the shire next month :) I'm 25 and DH is 29. I have two girls DD1 who is 4 and DD2 who is 18 months.

Is anyone still catching up. Would def like to meet some other mums!

I used to live in Miranda when I had DD1 and found it very lonely not knowing anyone so hopefully I can make some new friends!

Does anyone have any primary school age children? Do you have any recommendations for schools?

Sara

Hey
I have a 2 year old boy we don't know many mums with kids. I moved to Miranda when bubba was born. Really wish I could find some friends with the same things in common aka kids.

Hi Sara,

I have an 14mth old boy and am 3mths pregnant with our second. We moved to the shire in January and also lived here 3yrs ago as hubby is in the army. I'm 26 and my husband is 34. I totally understand how lonely it can be as we always seem to be moving!!

If you're interested in catching up sending me an email is prob easiest cos I hardly come on here.. rhiannonwalker85@msn.com

I meet up with another mum each week at a playground near our house in Sylvania that's great as it's fully fenced so the toddlers can run around safely!

Hopefully chat soon! Goodluck with the move :-)
Thought I'd put this out there. I'm a Shire dad (sorry, I should say a possible future dad) with fertility issues. Plenty of time during the day for coffee, maybe other guys or females not quite there yet might like a chat over a coffee. I'm not shy, embarrassed or put off by female 'stuff' whatsoever so don't be shy just because I'm a bloke if you aren't.

Hi
I maybe moving to cronulla with hubby and 5 week old baby from canberra (depends if hubby gets the job he has applied for!)

do you know if there is a new parent group which is run by the Maternal & child health nurses? (MACH) I'm due to join the canberra one in June but maybe living in cronulla then and am keen to still attend a similar session.

are there any organised mothers groups in cronulla?

thanks for help!
