when/where 2 sort out custody

wasnt sure if this was the right place to post, i was jus wondering as im due in 3 wks how do i get all the custody and child support sorted out? i really want it done asap maybe even before shes born if possible jus to get the ball rolling he ( baby dad) is fighting me or anything about the child support he is stepping up in that department, i was jus wondering how u get the visits and days sorted out legally, i think we might run into some issues there, does anyone know where i should start or where i should go, i know about the CSA with child support im jus wondering about the custody issue.

hi there,

well it depends on how the two of you get along and can communicate etc.

try and talk to him first to see what he wants etc with access toyour child.if you cannot agree you usually need to attend a mediation session first (the family court makes everyone do this before they try and file in court).the family court should have numbers where you can ring to get a mediation service in your area.when you guys decide on how the visits will go etc,the best thing to do is register all this info through the courts,it's called a parenting order and it is legally enforcable.if you cannot decide even after the mediation session then you can apply to the family court to have judge decide.i wish you luck!

you sould be able to contact a local sollictor/lawyer free of charge if not you can contact legal aid by phone or in person and they would be able to help you with accurate information as to what you need and when you need to organise it
as for child support to recieve a spp must be done through csa Good luck and i hope this info helps you a lil bit :)
