We are in the middle of moving our DS to a bigger room (more area for him to play in) and have just painted the walls a soft lime green colour.

I've got a couple of things from Ikea (red treasure chest & mirror), dragon holder thing for bits & pieces, one of those soft toy net things that hangs from the ceiling and next week we are going to get him the large leaf canopy to go over his cot - what I was wanting were some ideas of things I could make for his room that would fit in with a jungle/pirate sort of theme. I was thinking of doing a little area with some some largish cushions where we could cuddle and read his books.

I want some things that he can interact with....ie we are put a little shaddow box type thing that has heaps of little drawers at his height so he can put his little treasures in there.

Sorry if I have :ecomcity: :ecomcity: :ecomcity: - just hoping you guys could help me brainstorm to get my creative juices flowing!!

(my ds is 18 months old) - thanks

Sounsd like a great idea, what about on the feature wall painting a white pole, then getting some fabric and tacking it to the wall to make a mast / sail...?

And, love the idea of the reading corner

hang bincolars/telescope from his bed?

porthole paintings on the walls? pictures of waves/palm tree lined beach

Parrot on his bedhead? lol

sorry im in a weird mood...

put a masking tape "X marks the spot" on his floor...

you could actually do the "coffee" staining of paper and make a map to hang on his wall... if you wanted to be really creative ;)

K mart was recently selling a shark shaped beanbag........it is pretty cool. You could also hang a "Jolly Roger" Flag on the wall???

You could always make a tree and make the branches and leaves cover part of the ceiling and hang monkeys etc from them ....

Or maybe a map of his life so far or a family map ........ ( i love the coffee stain idea )

Or maybe purchase a bookcase and paint it green and get pirate / animal books

Is this just the teacher coming out in me ......... :smiliedance:
