MJ is once again constipated & i cant figure out why :banghead:

She is still bf so has that approx 4 times in a 24hr period

Will only drink water on its own or with a bit of pear or prune juice

Eats 1-2 weetbix or uncle toby's 1+yr porridge with full fat milk for breakfast

Lunch is yogurt/fruit (mandarine/banana) & 2-4 prunes.

Dinner is always veges mix (pumpkin/potato/sweet potato/carrot/peas/corn etc) home-made of course. Then she will eat bits of our dinner too.

She gets no more than 1 biscuit a day, & thats every other day (not a fan of sweet stuff)

Since she was about 11 months she has refused to poo in her nappy & tells me she wants to go on the potty. IF we're not home she will stop herself going. But for the last week, her poo's have become pellets & she only does very little.

Is there anything, other than medication, that i can do for her?

Thanks

I have noticed that whenever I give the dude oat cereal + fruit for brekky, it makes him go to the toilet. The oat cereal is one of those baby ones, I think the brand is Bellamy's, and it is organic. I guess that everyone's body is different, but that is what works for us, and it works pretty much within the hour.

How about dried fruit? Will MJ munch on dried fruit as a snack? It is strange that the prune juice doesn't make her go. How about pear juice? I was told this by a nurse at the hospital after the dude popped out.

And bananas bind you, so perhaps try another fruit for a day or two and see if that makes a difference?

Hmmm, that's all I have. Good luck, poor MJ, can't be very comfortable...

My daughter is 17 months old and I have had the same problem for a while. I went to the Natural Health Food shop and got something called Psyllium Husks. You mix it in with stewed fruits or on their breakfast cereal. It helps alot... Give it a go and let me know how it goes.

Thanks for that. She's been ok though lately. I just make sure she eats 3-4 prunes a day. She loves them so there's no battle there
