My bub is just over 6 months. At night she is stirring and needs to be resettled, which only takes a matter of seconds. We feel that she is getting cold (as the nights are getting colder). She's fairly rugged up, with her wrap and then blanket over the top. Has anyone ever tried using an electric blanket underneath the mattress to enable a gentle heat to come through? Any other ideas?

Children - even older children - shouldn't sleep in electric blankets, it can dehydrate them.

We have heaters in all our bedrooms.

Those baby sleeping bags or Grobags are great too.

I wouldn't feel safe putting an electric blankek.

have you tried the grobag or baby sleeping bag as French mentioned?

I have just started using one on DS who is just over 2 weeks old as its getting cooler at night and no matter how tight he is wrapped he gets his arms and legs out and lays there with no blankets on lol

We got ours at pumpkin patch for around 30 dollars.

i wouldnt use a heater on the mattress. i would either use a sleeping bag of some sort or also get some fleece blankets. coop has had his since he was a new born and they have kept nice and fleecey. even i use them as they are 1m long and great to keep warm.

Is the back of her neck, her chest or her back is cold? If they're warm, don't worry. She is not too cold.

And don't put electric blanket. I suggest sleeping bag to help.

Thanks everyone. I went and bought a baby sleeping bag. We're much happier with that as a means of keeping her warm.:smiliedance:
