Hi
I have a 4 year old son who has been toilet trained since 2 years old. Since starting kinder he has been coming home wet every day. I asked him why he wont go at kinder and he just says he doesnt need to!!!uggg, I have tried everything to get him to go at kinder but to no avail..
I am now getting worried about school next year as I am at a loss where to go from here
Any suggestions would be appreciated as I will try anything at this stage!!!:(
Whe he is at home he never has any accidents, just at kinder

are the toilets readily available for the kids at kinder? doors open etc? do the teachers remind the kids to go or not? i dont have any experience with kinder or anything but my son has had an accident once at daycare due to them not having the toilets readily available with the doors open for the kids

Yep the toilets are easily accessable for the kids . When the teachers keep asking him if he needs to go he just says no, then wets himself later.
I tell my kids to go to the toilet. At first they argued but now they go if I tell them. They also take themselves.
If your kinder teacher would agree to take your son to the toilet at least once, if he would happily go to the toilet, then you may find the problem solved.:fingerscrossed:

he might be embarrased - i wouldnt go to the toilet when i went to kinda because the toilets didnt have any doors on them

Could the kinder teacher perhaps take him to an adult toilet to go? DS happily uses the kinder toilets (though he's only been 2 times, he just started this week), but they are so 'out in the open', perhaps your DS is embarrassed?

Yeah, I think being embarrased may be part of the problem as the toilets dont have doors on them, although the kinder teacher offered to take him into the adult toilets but he refused to go.
He also does the same thing when he goes to a friends home to play, he will hold on until he wets himself . I am wondering if he is too shy to go to a "strange" toilet? If this is the case I still dont know what to do!!!
Sorry for the long post but I dont know who else to ask for advice

hmm, tricky. Have you sat him down to have a good chat about it, to try and assess what his feelings are about the issue? I think at 4 he is definitely old enough to express his feelings. Then maybe work together with him to figure out a solution. And also tell him how you feel about it all, in a gentle way. Other than that I have no idea. Good luck :)
