I spent two weeks in hospital after having my daughter. I had my epidural in for 5 days, since being out of hospital and back home, my back has had pins & needles in it constantly and it wont go away. Doc says it should clear up, but its been 6 months, also I have pain under my arm and its sore to the touch, the pain is not always there, just sometimes.

Do you think this would all be back pain related, or something else??

Help...I am worried...Doc wont give me a straight answer.

My back still plays up where I had an epidural in Feb 04.... sometimes people fall outside of the myriad of people that get away without any probs, then there's the minority that doesn't.....

My epidural peirced the sheath surrounding my spinal cord and spinal fluid was leaking out.......I was in bed for 4 weeks as I couldn't sit or stand due to the fluid decreasing and not being enough to cushion my brain..... I had 3 blood patches (they take blood from your arm and inject it into your epidural site in the hope it will clot and heal the hole - painful!!!) and the next option was to have an opp to synthetically put a patch over it!!! I said no to that and just waited (in my bed).... eventually the spinal fluid leak stopped and mostly it's better but very sore around the site with aching every so often.....

So anyway, my point is, things can go wrong, even though it's rare, get it checked out by someone else, even maybe talk to the person that actually did it - that's who dealt with mine, but I was private so don't know if that makes a difference.....

Hope you feel better soon and get some answers.
