Babies birth weight in relation to parents birth weight.

So DF's sibling's birth weight range from 8lb 7oz and 11lb 9oz (including him there is 6) and my siblings range from 6lb 8oz and 7lb 4oz (including me there is 6).

DF was the smallest at 8lb 7oz and i was the 2nd largest at 7lb 2oz and my sisters and mum keep telling me that my babies with DF will be between our birth weight....

Soo my question is was your childrens bws around or in between yours and FOB?

Hubby was 9p2oz I was 6p4oz our first was 8p3oz (which is roughly my partners and my birth weights added together then divided by 2) our next bub was 9p6oz.

Not sure if your worried about CPD (cephalopelvic disproportion) though?

I was around the 8 pound mark, MIL has no idea how big DP was :rolleyes: (thats a whole other story) but Lucas was 8 pound 8oz.

I know hey, my mum still remembers exact measurements of me but his mum is a bit...airy fairy sometimes haha.

Oh he was gorgeous, big fat rolly thing. I hope the next bubby is even bigger! I reckon bigger bubs sleep better, and develop faster :yes: JMO of course :D.

DH isn't sure of his birth weight, but I weighed 6 pound 6 ounces @ 2-weeks overdue (c-sect).

My DD was born @ 38-weeks (induced) weighing 5 pound 13 ounces, so pretty close.

Thanks everyone. My mum and sisters have been annoying the crap outta me saying that bubs will be inbetween ours, i think its a bit of "pot luck" with what babies weigh!!

I have been told that heavy babies are easier (most) of the time because the cervix is usto the weight and has already stretched it a little bit. I wonder how true that is :rolleyes:

My DD was 8lb 12 oz (8hrs labour), DS1 10lb 15 oz (4 1/2hours labour, 9mins 2nd stage) and DS2 11lb (4hours labour 12 min 2nd stage, home birth). :)

I was 7lb 2oz at 38 weeks. DD was 7lb 8oz at 36 weeks. No idea what her father was, but she still had 4 weeks of growth to go before her due date so we would have been a big bubba. My brother was born at 36 weeks weighing 7lb 8oz and 48cm in length, so exactly the same as DD. Would be nice in a way to know her father's birth size (and other medical history) but I guess it's also better not to know.

DH was 8lbs something, and I was only 6lbs (both born on or near due date).

So both were bigger than me. I don't think it has much to do with your or your partners birth weight :no:

I can't say there's a connection.

I was 7'10 pound. My daughter's dad was 9'4 She was 7'12 (10 days overdue)

My son and second daughter's dad was 8 pounds.

Son was 8'15
Daughter2 was 9'7

I might also add that my first husband weighed more than my second at birth, but was 45 kg less than him as an adult (DH is huge).

So I don't think birth weight means much.

Also DD2 who weighed more than DS at birth is much smaller than him at the same age.

I'm pretty sure I weighed 7lb12oz (something close to that anyway) and DH weighed 8lb something ... We had 8lb1oz, 9lb12oz, 9lb5oz and 9lb6oz.

So I would say our birthweights didn't really factor in to our childrens weights :)

I was an average 3kg baby. Her father was 12lbs and 1 month prem.

DD was 10lbs 4oz.

DH was 9lb 13oz at nearly 42weeks.

This time we are expecting a much bigger baby as she is 2 weeks bigger then her due date (which would have ment that I fell pregnant during my cycle) and everytime I go back to my OB she just gets bigger and bigger then she should be, but all healthy.
