Hi,
DS has been diagnosed with silent reflux approx 2months ago and has been on Zantac ever since. It has been amazing, no more fussing, crying etc. In the last week tho he has started to sick up a lot more. Normally it was just a little at the end of feeds. Now it is a lot more (tho I wouldn't say projectile) sometimes it come up straight away and looks exactly the way the milk (formula) went down. Other times it is a lot more digested and has that real vomit smell to it. It doesnt seem to bother him too much, but it is very out of the ordinary.
I'm unsure if its to do with the Zantac, or formula, or completley unrelated?

Would LOVE any suggestions
Thanks!:)

Hi there:wave:

My daughter was diagnosed with silent reflux at 4 weeks of age, we tried thickened formulas losec etc but didnt have much luck. I moved on to infant gaviscon and it has been the best thing for her, although she still was a difficult feeder and has her good and bad days its definately been a godsend.

At three months she started power chucking after each feed so her reflux had gone from silent to projectile. Around that time she started teething alot more and we believe the increase of saliva may have caused her reflux to increase. We increased the dose of gaviscon and that helped again.

Its all trial and error with it I think, its hard to say what causes it but after many conversations with other reflux mums there seems to be alot of chuckers out there and as much as they bring up its amazing that they gain weight.

I would take bubs back to the Gp and see what they suggest? Gavsicon may work for you too. Hope it calms down soon I know how difficult and worrying it can be.:hugs:

Could be many things, teething, growth spurt, the list is endless.

He may have growth in the last 2 months & needs his dose changed.

DS refluxes badly when his growing, teething or tries a new food that doesnt agree with him.
