I think our little man may have entered the big bad world of teething.....

His cheeks are red and hot to touch...but the rest of him isnt!
He pulls on and off the bottle or breast and grizzles. When I go near him with the bottle he will scream and arch his back to pull away......but he's STARVING. He will suck franticly for a couple of seconds and then pull off again and scream. (he doesnt have wind!)
His is ULTRA clingy to me, and his daddy is his next favorite. He no longer adores cuddles with Granny, Grandma, or his uncle and aunties.
He has two little dots on his top gum...but I'm not sure if they are just spots on the gum or dots where teeth may be emergying?
He's blowing bubbles with saliva all the time, and sometimes drools.
He's more unsettled in the evenings when he's starting to get tired anyway.
He has been waking more often at night.......
He is BITING on everything....including my breast, the bottle, his toys, his hand, my hand. Everything goes in his mouth and gets CHOMPED!
Does this sound like teething to you guys???? What should we give him to help? Is Bonjella the best? We gave him some panadol tonight and he has finally finished his feed and gone to bed....but I dont want to be *drugging* him every night!!!

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Kat I am going through the exact same thing and I feel like smacking my head on a bed of nails!!!

So here's what I am doing

Calming her down with some floor time or in her cot watching her mobile, then try feeding again, sometimes this works as she is calm. if not I ocupy her with something else like looking at a book walking around etc

Then I give her a teething ring or a cold flannel in the freezer still not getting anywhere I use Sm33 if still not working out comes either the Brauers teething relief or the Panadol.

I decided on which relief on her body movement and my looking at her gums right now her two bottom teeth are right there and on some days they have been bleeding and she BITES!!! and it freaking hurts! So I give her panadol.

Also the saliva is not always a sign of teething it's just they don't know to swallow it!

I tell you now I am going to be so happy when they come through!

Thanks M&P - Here I was thinking that babies didnt start to teeth until 6 months! HA. Oliver is only 3 and a half months!

The thing I find the hardest to deal with is the way he fusses over his feeds.....its heart breaking when he wont drink....this little man of mine was drinking well over 1200ml a couple of weeks ago, and now only had about 900 a day, and I have to FORCE that into him, because he is not enjoying sucking. Its also very tiering for poor me, as he will take a good hour or MORE over each feed.

Hopefully teeth emerge soon, or whatever it is that is bugging him clears up....its so sad watching your bubba hurting!

How long do teeth usually take to come thru?

I feel so sorry for him!

Hi,
My little man went through the same with his 3rd and 4th teeth, frist two showed up with no worries. We tried all of the things ppl told us, but the problem was that he wouldn't use any of the plastic teethers. Our child health nurse was really helpful, she suggested we try a face washer with cold (boiled) water and frozen carrots, both of these helped soothe him a lot.

hope it helps... :)

I'm getting some stuff for his gums today! Fingers crossed this is what it is and the gum stuff helps!

Mandy, are you finding Emma is totally off her food cause it hurts to suck?
