Did anyone see the article in Saturday's Courier Mail about the magazine in the USA (think it was a parenting one) where they pictured a baby breastfeeding and the backlash the pictured caused?!?! Apparently, lots of people complained to the publishers and said they found it offensive.

Found the article now - page 45 of the World section. Title: Nature at its breast offends US readers. They received 5000 letters of people expressing offence or disgust at the picture. The magazine is called BabyTalk.

It then talks about a survey done which found 57% were opposed to breastfeeding in public and 72% think it's inappropriate to show a woman breastfeeding on television.

The editor said: "There is a real puritanical streak in America. You see celebrities practically baring their breasts all the time and no one seems to mind. But in this very natural context of feeding your child, a lot of Americans are very uncomfortable with it."

It's a sad world we live in if a woman cannot even feed her child in public!!
