My breasts are getting ready for breastfeeding and one of them has been extremely tender over the past week. It was hurting to even have my clothes rubbing over it, so in the end i was sort of massaging it and a lot of colostrum I guess it was/milk came out - I continued massaging it and as i did the extreme pressure disappeared and the pain decreased to almost nothing. This was a couple of days ago and now there's hardly anything coming out anymore.
:oI feel embarrassed and naive to ask this but do you think it matters that I did this? I am sure it will all just build up again, and in reality, while it seemed like a lot was coming out over a day, it probably wasn't that much (I was able to just wipe it away with a tissue or even just onto my finger).
But do you think it makes any difference that I did this while my breasts are doing what they've got to do to get ready for my new baby? The pressure hasn't increased again so now i am wondering what's going on...i just presumed this was a short term relief thing and that the pain and pressure would come back as my glands refilled or whatever, but they don't seem to be???:o
