i came home from work today and my son was gone. Apparantly the lady next door dobbed us in. She is a teacher at his school. My other kids are still here though. Anyone else been through this.

I know someone who lost all 3 of her kids, but she needed to they were not going to school, not being fed and the mum was on drugs.

I don't understand why they just took one, it's good that you have your others with you but I thought if one went they all did:confused:

I don't think you'll get too many people sharing with you, unless you post more information. AFAIK, kids aren't just taken away like that, for no reason at all, particularly if only one child was removed and the siblings left behind. Sorry, but there's gotta be more to it.

I'm pretty sure once docs is invloved then there are meetings etc with parents...not just child is taken with no warning. I agree with others.....you need to explain exactly what's going on.

Yep, they have to get a order from the court to place a child in foster care.

I want to give the OP the benefit of the doubt but without more info it sounds strange to me.

So if they go to a home where a baby is left with siblings aged between 3-10 they couldn't do anything ??? Not saying this is what happened just curious that's all

sorry but i really dont believe this. firstly, they wouldnt just take your children. they need to get an order and secondly, they would notify you that your child/ren are coming out of your care. you wouldnt just show up home and a child has been taken.

Seeing that you're in Vic I assume that you are implying that DHS took your son?

Did they leave a card or notice?

Have you contacted the police?

Have you spoken to DHS?

Why would the lady next door dob you in? For what?

If she's a teacher she is obliged to report suspected child abuse/neglect

Have you spoken to her?

What do your other 4 children say? What does their other parent/baby sitter say?

Really need a bit more info please :)

If a child is left at home alone and there is no adult present then Police can gain access and if there have major concerns for the welfare of the children they can take custody of children and place your children in the care of DOCS.
