Anyone in Wangaratta??

:wave: We are moving from Adelaide to Wangaratta in about 6 weeks or so. I actually grew up there but most of my old friends have moved away. Of the few that are left, most don't have kids! Anyone in Wang? :)

I'm in Wang. We moved here in Dec 09 from Melb.
I go to a playgroup that was set up for people new to Wang and the local community house has a new comers group that I'm a part of. If you want any details, pm me.

Do you go to the same playgroup as mrsdj1234? I have heard about a few. Seems there is one on everyday of the week (not that i'm quite THAT keen :laughing:).

Yep there is a few lol I only go to 1 tho. We do swimming on Mondays and other stuff in between school! Not a bad town Wang, I still dont know many people tho.

Well you're soon to know one more :D I have a few friends still there from school days but only 1 close friend that has kids. We will be doing swimming too. I've been thinking of going back to work, but don't know how i'll fir it all in :laughing:. What school are you at? I'm going to send DS to Appin Park, as it's where I went and have heard good things.

We live just near the school, its a good school. What year will your DS be in?
We do swimming lessons at moore than swimming on mondays.

DS is in year one. DS2 was going to be in prep next year but because we couldn't get him into kinder in Wang, we are going to hold him back and do kinder next year. I think it will be better for him anyway, he's a typical boy! We are going to be living over the other side of town but happy to travel over! My parents and my brother and SIL are right near the school too.

Not sure about swimming yet. Was just going to go to the barr reserve one, didn't know there were others!

Have you picked a kindy out yet? DS will be going to coronation next year, i think they are pretty full.
So only a few weeks till the move?

Have you already enrolled? I didn't realise you could?! At this stage we are hoping to get into Wang West. I know one of the teachers and she is going to enrol him for me if we are still over here when the enrolments open. Really hoping he gets in.

Yeah, we are going to move probably in the last couple of days in May. So much to organise :hair:. What made you guys move to Wang? We have bought a block of land and have got a rental for while we build. Will be a pain not being in the west end but land was so much cheaper over the other side.

Yep I enrolled DS a few months ago! Filled out his name and DOB and all done. see you next year lol.
I moved over here when I started seeing DP. He was originally from wang then lived in Melbourne but he also moved back here. His parents are just out the road.
I didnt move far tho only came from rutherglen haha

Oooooh, big move :laughing:. Thats good though, at least you can go 'home' easily. Wow, I so didn't realise enrolments were open at the other kinders. Maybe I should put his name down at another kindy. With wang west, you have to enrol through NERPSA and put down 3 preferences. My friend missed out on a spot this year, so bit worried. But should be fine if the teacher does it for me.

I'm going to have to go, we are getting packed ready to go away for the weekend. Going to the beach so fingers crossed the weather gets better coz it's bloody freezing here! Looking forward to meeting you, Mel :)

hi ladies, i am new to this bub hub thing :yelclap:.. and was randomly reading through and found this..dp and i are currently thinking about moving to wang, from albury.. and a friend told me about this site.. she thought it would be a good place to try and meet some other mums in the area... bella was born in feb this year. would be nice to get to know some people in the town before we take the plunge, I DONT KNOW ANYONE THERE :thumbsdown:

I was wondering if anyone has any feedback on any as we're coming from Cairns I have absolutely no idea about the area let alone Vic schools!
