Those who promote circumcision like to beat the HIV drum, even when it is clearly a disproportional response in most cases. Sometime in the near future (I'd say less than 10 years) there will in all probability be an HIV vaccine.

So I'd like to ask the assembled, when modern science takes the wind out of the HIV sails, what do you all think the next excuse will be?

Probably something to do with reducing UTI's

That's the justification I was given from someone the other day...it was probably one of the more ridiculous arguments i've heard, made even more ridiculous by some pathetic stats which were provided.

What I want to know is - what happens when a man dies from old age having never experienced any 'issues' due to having a foreskin, yet having experienced emotional distress from having it unnecessarily removed from him without his permission? Will pro-circer's THEN admit that RIC is unneccesary and damaging?

It prevents homosexuality?

I don't know. Something will always pop up.

If a new STD appears in the future no doubt circ will be promoted as a prevention.

Maybe prostate cancer? Only problem is most elderly men in the 3 countries with the highest rates are circed. Its amazing what you can do with juggling statistics though.

Perhaps epilepsy as the good Victorian era doctors said. All those nerve endings could only over excite someone.

Oh they will just go back to the original BS about hygiene and religion and family tradition.

That seems to be the most pernicious and most likely.
