View Full Version : Do you think he could be teething?

DS has been quite fussy the last two days. I put it down to his 3-month growth spurt but actually I don't think he's having that (or has had it yet).

He is drooling up a storm, literally all down the front of his clothes. He is clamping down when feeding at times - like he'd be biting if he could - and sucking/chewing on his hands and arms.

He also keeps poking his tongue out all the time like it's uncomfortable.

His gums look fine but that doesn't always mean anything.

Yesterday he was screaming and crying (and he never cries, and I do mean never. He is the MOST mellow baby ever) and I tried everything and ended up giving him some Panadol.

About 30 minutes later he slept for three hours - the longest he had slept in two days. And then he had a really good night's sleep.

He has been fussy on the boob, too, for a couple of days.

He's 13 weeks old on Sunday (DD teethed early, too).

WDYT?

Very possible :)
Have you considered a Baltic Amber necklace for him? They are WONDERFUL!

It does sound like teething!

Clamping down on the breast is the giveaway for me.

I wonder if he will actually get a tooth out? Might just be very sore gums, tooth movement etc.

Yeah me too MizzN. :D

This could go on for months! Clamping down on the boob without teeth, though, is FAR preferable to the fun biting in store once they pop through ... oooh cringing memories ...

Sounds like teething. My DS is only 12 weeks old and has been doing the same things for about a week and now we can feel something on the gum, no tooth through yet though.

That has described my 5 month old exactly for the last two months but no teeth or signs of teeth so I don't think it's teething at all.
