When using cloth do you use disposable wipes? if so, do you flush them or throw them out? if throwing them out do you have to wash the poo off them first before they go in the bin?
Also...Does anyone know where I can buy flushable wipes from? for a reasonable price, I heard they are more expensive then normal ones.
You buy the flushable wipes in the toilet paper section of your supermarket. I dont flush the normal baby wipes, I just put them in the disposable bags ( I buy mine from the $2 shop for $2 for 200 bags) that you buy and throw them out. The disposable ones are not that much expensive although I am not 100% sure, but I dont think they are for babies bums, but I havnt read the packet.

heinz are bringing out a new wipe that is flushable and designed for kids.. they are wiggles design.. look on the heinz website and you will no what i mean.. they are directed at toilet training and flushable but you could use them with nappies and flush.. cheaper than the sorbent ones to...
We use cheap facewashers (a definite seperate colour so no confusions  ) and just wash them with our nappies.

I bought some double muslin from Spotlight and sewed up little squares about 20 cms square. It works well as it can get into the itty bitty bits!

I saw these in Woolies last week, I think they were about $3 a pack...didn't notice how many were in the pack tho.
The cheapest face washers I have found have been in Big W, a pack of 4 for less that $3  They are pretty thick too.
Facewashers here, its actually easier if you are using cloth nappies because it just goes in the wash with the nappy if you were using baby wipes you would have to then go to the bin IYKWIM. Thin facewashers are best (i think) so you can get into the creases.

I just remembered, I actually have some thin square nappies, they are not the terry ones but are similiar, just thinner and smooth. Would it work if I cut them up into wipe sized and use them?

They sound like flanalette. They would be great to use as wipes.
You'll need to overlock or sew the sides or they'll fray though.
I just brought some really cheap flanellette from Spotlight and zigzagged the edges. I have now got HEAPS of wipes for about $3.

I use some of my old Flat terry Nappies cut up into squares. I put 2 back to back and zigzagged the edges, they are very good for poos. I use Flannelette ones i made for her wee's too.

I must admit that I use disposable wipes now but when DS was first born I used kitchen cloths that I bought from Aldi with warm water. The cloths cost 99c for a pack of 10 and I cut each cloth into 2 pieces. Depending on whether the nappy was wee or poo it either got washed or thrown out.

I saw the Wiggles ones in Safeway yesterday - $5.99 for 40 wipes (I think) in a Wiggles dispenser. And they we're about half the size of a normal wipe. And the refil pack was $3.99. Bit of a rip-off actually because you can't re-use the dispenser with regular wipes.
